This establishment has a long-held reputation for its food and ambience, located in Clitheroe. It doubles as both an informal yet classy daytime eatery and classy Brasserie in the evenings, renowned for the cosmopolitan atmosphere and great service it really it worth a visit. The portions are huge but prices very reasonable, considering the location.

Have visited the Freemasons several times now & it never ever disappoints. The steaks - in my husbands opinion - are the best cooked steaks he has ever had anywhere. The Duck breast served with crispy wontons is amazing. The Menu changes slightly quite regularly which is also refreshing. Just make sure you leave room for the desserts too. The wine list is more than adequate & the front of house staff charming & efficient without being intrusive. One slick operation, & not sure why this restaurant doesn't have a Michelin star.

My recommendation would be that you do not go to the Eagle until either the old head chef is re-instated or a new one takes over. My first visit in October 2009 the food was amazing the best food I have tasted in a restaurant without Michelin Stars. However, on my last visit at the end of January the food was awful, the Moules tasted of nothing more than flour, the Veal Canneloni was baked to the dish and the Prawn Cocktail was also bland. The mains, well they were worse. I'm not sure what has happened front of house either, upon telling the waitress that the steak was cold she just said "Oh' and walked away. The manager did not seem to be equipped to deal with complaints either. The atmosphere in the bar though was still great and it seems to be the hotspot for drinking in the area. I hope the problems are ironed out soon as only a few months ago I would say it was the best place by far in the area.

My favourite restaurant for quality of food, service, friendliness and of course price. It's difficult to get them all right at the same time but, in my opinion, the 3 Millstones certainly does. The food is cooked and presented superbly, the service is very friendly and efficient but not in your face. The early bird menus are amazing value for money and absolutely delicious. Perfect!

Table booked for 8.45pm. Arived 8.35pm waited 30 mins before order taken, another 15 mins before seated at table (although the table was free when we entered) and eventually left without eating at 9.55pm. Service not as expected. Food may be wonderful but we'll never know. Spoilt a very special evening.

Always enjoyed it here, nice place, quirky, young staff, and like young staff some are surly and some are confident and friendly - lovely soups.

The menu is small and doesn't offer a single vegetarian dish. The waiter said he would speak to the chef and took off and only returned to serve food at other tables, avoiding ours. I ended up ordering just a starter (the only veg dish!). Both our meals were just about average. We would definitely not go back.

Went for a wonderful winter walk that started and finished at this excellent country pub. After 6 miles we were really ready for our sunday roast and were not disappointed. Great wine from Byrnes and we loved the decor and atmosphere. Next time we will stay!

A truly wonderful country Inn. Definitely one of Englands finest! An inpromptu stay as our car was stuck on an icy road nearby. What a place to be stuck! I love the intact Georgian feel the place has, the wonderful curios and its attention to detail. A must stay venue!

This is the best venue for service , food, bar stock and atmosphere, very child friendly and perfect for a romantic meal or family party or wedding. The value for money is amazing, and second to none for service. Merry Christmas Zack and Catherine.

There is always a very warm welcome at The Villa. Piano and his staff provide an excellent service. The food is the best quality and cooked to perfection. I always recommend this restaurant to anyone wishing to eat out in Clitheroe in comfort.

Really friendly staff here at the Castle Chippy and a good range on the menu. The chips are the best I have ever had. Try the chips with one of their flavours - I had mine with sweet chili sauce - delicious. They also do batter for gluten-free diet. Well worth a visit.

Best fish and chips I've had in many a year!!! The batter on the fish is lovely light and tasty. My wife loved the mushy peas. Very friendly staff. I would definitely recommend a visit to the Castle Chippy if you are in the area, I will certainly be there again.

Really friendly staff and a great menu with lots of interesting items. The chips are the best I've ever had. Worth trying them with a flavour on - I had sweet chilli - really tasty. I know they do fish in different ways too, you can even get gluten free batter. Make sure you visit!

We have visited the eagle at barrow about 6 months ago and we were very pleased with all aspects of the brasserie and pub style services provided, however we visited again today and unfortunately the service has slipped somewhat. We had to go get our own menu, we were not told of any specials available, we were not told what the soup was ( some people may think that this is not too bad) however it took them 35 minutes to take our order, after getting our own menus. We ordered, steak burger. Which came with Chat potatoes (fried cubes to you and me)? Way under cooked onion rings. V greasy. No side salad. Burger on a bun. I may just be being picky, but I was not asked how I would like my burger cooked...luckily I like mine medium, but others who ordered around us did not, after all it is a steak burger. A few people at a table were swapping theirs round to the ones best suited to them. I would have liked just a tiny few leaves to go with my burger. My husband, ordered Ploughmans salad....he had to go and get his own bread.... when it arrived. It was like a small petit pan baguette, not nearly enough to cope with a full ploughmans lunch. After lunch...which was quite tasty after all the too-ing and fro-ing. I had to ask for menus again to look at dessert. We weren’t offered them. After choosing what I wanted.....20 mins later, we decided to leave. I couldn't wait any longer again to be served. I left with my sweet tooth unsatisfied.... We have had very good service in the past...I think the area we sat in...generally was untended to. I think if you sat in the centre of the pub, or by the window. Service would have been very good. There was hardly any light...I struggled to see the menu. I had read a review about this before where a lady felt obliged to request a miners helmet...she was not mistaken. I feel like the eagle deserves a 3rd chance from us, so we will re visit, however I hope a manager is reading this and taking note of the things I have mentioned. After all, my money stayed in my pocket today, but potentially could have been in theirs. There were two hungry customers who wanted to have dessert and plenty more drinks but sadly we left after lunch and one drink. Just remember first impressions count...its all about continued custom, it the next sale you need to think of, not the one that you have already got.
