took the family for Xmas meal in December, food was very good and service was excellent,we took my 2 year old grandson and they provided him with a main course meal and then refused to take payment for it.So much food I took my pudding home in a doggy bag, all locally sourced food and excellent quality. Have been subsequently as a couple and the food was excellent, loads of specials, starters and main courses and the wine menu is extensive and not overly expensive, recommend the Chenin Blanc.

Terra Nova is a truly stunning little bistro. The staff are extremely friendly and efficient. When i saw the prices, i expected the food to be mediocre at best, but when it was served it was nothing short of superb!!! Ive been to many top restaurants where the food hasn't been a patch on this, at ten times the price. I really cannot recommend it enough!!!

Imaginative variations of standard dishes at reasonable prices.

The Earl of Chatham has lost it's way! Used to be a decent pub but the new landlord seems to have run it right down. As an indication of just how quiet it is these days, I was in the King's Arms on Saturday, and the landlord and landlady came in for a drink around 10.00pm!! They must have closed early!

The Globe is a great pub, however, in terms of food it's all going a bit pear shaped! The attention to detail has been lost and the prices are through the roof. It used to be my favourite eatery in Lostwithiel, now days I never eat there! Shame!

short but very good selection of choices. Options include some main courses as starters and my field mushrooms were excellent. Also shallot risotto perfect. Generous proportions and main course "Rack and black" (lamb and boudin noir) excellent. Fantastic wine list with good selections of whites and reds from old and new world plus (unusual for cornwall) a fine wine list. For the quality and variety, the pricing is terrific. It is a small and intimate place and if you want very good food in unpretentious surroundings make sure you book.

Under new ownership, this beautiful restaurant has excelled itself. With the Lunchtime Menu offering a choice of two or three courses for a set price, this represents good value and flexibility. (A la Carte is also available) Starting with a selection of delicious home-made breads I enjoyed a light lunch of Ceasar Salad followed by an old favourite of mine, Eton Mess which was simply divine. The salad had a good balance of ingredients and the pine nuts were roasted to perfection! My friends ordered a Thai Curry and Pepper Fritatta, both of which were excellent in taste and presentation. To finish their meal they chose homemade Ice Cream in a Brandy Snap basket and Cornish Brie which came with good quality grapes and assorted crackers. To complement our meal we drank an excellent Tindall Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, though we were spoilt for choice with the innovative Wine List. Coupled with delightful staff and attentive service Trewithen is certainly a good place for a meal at any time of the year.

I can recommend this inn whole heartedly. The food was scrummy and extremely fresh and mine host a delight (very funny)

A Great Find. Freshest food ive had served on a plate in Cornwall anywhere. We stayed the night, the quality of the guest rooms is akin to a swish London Hotel. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
