We have just had a wonderful evening and dinner at 'The Kitchen' in Polperro, Cornwall. Terrific food, excellent service, lovely atmosphere. A memorable dinner with my husband and 2 grown up daughters.

The best place to go for lunch in South East Cornwall. They have been up for several awards and have recently been awarded silver by taste of the west, when you go you'll see why. I can't rave on enough about the food, generous helpings and tasty too. There is a really homely atmosphere not just in the food but in the service as well. The theme is Cornish and it is all homecooked. The High Tea is a real experience!!! You don't have to book but the place is often full of regulars so it may be best to avoid disappointment.

June 2008 - I stumbled across this great little restaurant, with a wonderful atmosphere with fab staff offering a superb service and fantastic home made food, using local products, great price and terrific value for money, but most of all the food tasted wonderful.

Just happened to stumble across this restaurant and what a find it was. 3 courses for £20 (excluding drinks) of the most taste bud tantalizing food we had all vacation. The tomato soup with truffle oil, was to die for, the crab rissotto full of flavour and a really succulent steak (£2 extra) we were unable to manage a dessert. Highly recommended. Hope this restaurant goes from strength to strength.

What a great traditional English restaurant. You can? miss it in polperro its right on the bridge. Have eaten there on several occasions and the food has always been perfect. Try the carpetbag steak, I couldn? eat it all and had a doggy bag it was so good. The ambience is fake traditional seaside restaurant but don? let that put you off. The people who own and run it are committed to it and it shows. Excellent but it is a little pricey.
