A fantastic atmosphere and great food. The landlord and landlady are lovely. A recommended pub to visit.

The Westgate Inn – LauncestonAfter going to Newquay for a long weekend from London, what better than to be in a fabulous resort after having a day in the surf than to go to a brilliant restaurant like Stavros Taverna. The food was wonderful, and having eaten in many Cypriot tavernas in London this was up with the best of the best. Stavros was a peach making sure, as in true Cypriot style that everyone was having a good time. The atmosphere was great. I can highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Stavros Greek Taverna – NewquayWent for a beer last week at the Gig Bar, sat outside and watched the sunset with great views of St Michaels Mount. Decided to stay for a takeaway Fish & Chips to eat on the beach. I was really pleased with the quality of the food, it exceeded my expectations, the fish was nicely cooked, juicy and fresh with a crispy batter. Great stuff!
Godolphin Arms – MarazionThe Dave Thomasson hand dived scallops with black pudding and artichoke puree were divine. Cooked to perfection with a slight caramelisation which complemented the puree perfectly. I really enjoyed the the oxtail and oysters which were served in a suet crust the meat was deliciously tender. However the best course of the night was the espresso brulee with fairground doughnuts. WOW the creamy coffee custard was topped with a caramel laced with childhood "space dust" which crackled on your tongue superbly. The doughnuts were feather light and deeply rich in cinnamon. The best dessert i have tasted , I will be back for more.
Paul Ainsworth at No 6 – PadstowProbably the only real Chef in Padstow. Paul Ainsworth is producing imaginative, interesting food in a house in Padstow. The rooms are intimate and friendly with original decor adding to the ambiance. His personal attention on the floor speaks of a talented brigade behind the scenes carrying out his meticulously designed menus. We travelled 1600 miles around England and found little to compare with his excellent food, warm and welcoming ambiance and sensible pricing. Well Done!
Paul Ainsworth at No 6 – PadstowIt really is a mean machine... turning out two to three sittings a night and if you read Rick's ambitions for it, has done the job. It produces top notch seafood, simple, very simple cooking with no frills in a chic London style restaurant. Good wine, good service and a real buzz and clatter to observe. My only reservation is that the price is Michelin two star and the food, delish as it is, is not Michelin cuisine... however with a waiting list that long, price is the only governor on it being even longer!
Seafood Restaurant The – PadstowI've been to Stavros Taverna a few times now and I'd recommend this restaurant to everyone looking for a great night out! The atmosphere is like none other restaurant in Newquay, the staff are friendly and the food is amazing, I would especially recommend the Stavros Meze without a doubt!
Stavros Greek Taverna – NewquayHaving spent the week in and around Padstow we had the pleasure of spending our last evening at No.6 and we were not disappointed. We certainly saved the best to last and without any doubt No.6 was certainly the best dining experience of our stay. Food excellent, Albarino superb and Service was spot on. Its a must for anyone visiting Padstow. Jools, Katie & Rob
Paul Ainsworth at No 6 – PadstowI thought this place was great. It's your basic cafe and the menu is basic too, but what sets it apart is that they take such care over all the food. I went three times in three days and had baked potato with mackerel, tea and cake, and a crab salad that excellent. The staff are friendly and it's always busy, even on a damp day out of season. Word has clearly got around that this is a good place to come.
Beachcomber The – St IvesHad a fantastic evening, it was a friends birthday. The staff were really good and the food was great, we all agreed that we would go back. All the staff sung happy birthday to my friend, even the head chef sung! sparklers in the desserts as well.
Wheelhouse Restaurant and Lugger Hotel – PenzanceA really rare find. A quaint pub in a dear little Village. The Menu seemed fine but after ordering just 2 very small glasses of white wine we declined to eat there....they cost £9 for the 2! Afraid to say we certainly won't be visiting again, this was a blatant and exorbitant Gastropub at it's worst.
Maltsters Arms – WadebridgeThis is a very good eating house. However, trying to book a table by phone is a nightmare. Other than that, we would recommend the place one hundred percent.
ASK – TruroRude staff, over booked, ruined Mothers Day, dirty table absolute chaos a disgrace to the trade....... left and went Mexico Inn.......made welcome, great staff and food.
Godolphin Arms – MarazionThis is a relaxing venue and the food is delicious. The beef special is delightful for those with a good appetite as portions are generous. I especially like the huge choice of wines that you can have by the glass to accompany each course. Definitely a place to enjoy with friends plus time it right and you can have a brilliant sunset to watch as well.
Odds The Restaurant – NewquayThe best place to go for lunch in South East Cornwall. They have been up for several awards and have recently been awarded silver by taste of the west, when you go you'll see why. I can't rave on enough about the food, generous helpings and tasty too. There is a really homely atmosphere not just in the food but in the service as well. The theme is Cornish and it is all homecooked. The High Tea is a real experience!!! You don't have to book but the place is often full of regulars so it may be best to avoid disappointment.
Kitchen At Polperro – PolperroExcellent, a really enjoyable meal. The food was great value for money and the staff were very accommodating towards my children. The views were fantastic, I will definitely go back!
Pucellis – PadstowThis was our second visit to St Ives in a year, and it was a shame we did not discover this cracking restaurant/bar previously! The young Waiting and Bar staff were a joy, and the food was simply fantastic! The Thai seafood green curry dish was as good as you'd get in Thailand (I know!) and overall, a very good meal was had by six of us. Downstairs in the bar, the young guy behind the bar went out of his way to find a Kelly Slater surf video, just to please my wife! excellent, and we will be back next year.
Firehouse Bar and Grill – St IvesThe Greenhouse is a wonderfully friendly, unpretentious organic restaurant with really delicious food. We plan to return when we are next in Cornwall.
