We just heard they had a new chef so we went for Sunday Lunch. It was really nice and tasty and friendly staff. A beautiful spot to spend a few hours overlooking the beach. We will be back. Dave and Alice.

Delightful restaurant in the pretty village of St kervene. We had a most fantastic Sunday lunch- the baked cod was delicious. We booked a table for my birthday on 13th May and it was seafood evening. My husband had the lost amazing fresh crab and the fish and chips. The portions are huge but well priced. I would certainly recommend this restaurant.

We had a lovely meal here on 13th May - asparagus, chicken, bream and treacle tart. We recommend it.

What a cracking place to go for an excellent evening meal. The reception and service was excellent. The food was stunning. I've been to some fantastic eating places in the south west and this is right amongst them. Well done.

My wife and I dined on Saturday 9th May 09 and Wednesday 13th May 2009. The 9th was our first visit since September 08, and I found that Food and service has reached a exceptional Standard with fantastic tasting food, which was a cut above the rest and the freshness shone through with exceptional tastes followed by plate presentation which was as good as what you would expect from a Michelin star Restaurant !. Staff were attentive and accurate,professional and tended to our every need. The same was observed on Wednesday 13th May 09 this time we had two of our friends with us and they described the food as 'outstanding' no problems encountered and yet another excellent evening had by all, Restaurant Decor is modern and the Conservotory is recommended also it has been noted that even with a busy evening with about at least 20 covers staff remained focused throughout and made no errors which all adds to a great dining experience. These comments are true and all thoughts are genuine. We willl continue to eat at this Restaurant, it is worth noting that a fair comment is that the food and experience was better than that of the Porthminster Beach Cafe, I personally thought the food at the Atlantic Waves had a better taste, however this does not take away that the Beach Cafe is a very good Restaurant but the Atlantic Waves had the edge, which all Staff should be proud. A great menu, cooked & served brilliantly in a relaxed environment by friendly owners, accompanied by a great selection of wines & beers. TOP MARKS!!! We had a truly lovely evening and will definitely be back! We're already telling our friends too!

We would not have found this restaurant if it had not been recommended to us, and we are grateful that it was. The food is excellent. The decor has character and the restaurant looks like your grandmother's dining room, but the emphasis is heavily on the food, which is fresh, down-to-earth and very tasty. The treacle tart I had for dessert was the best I have ever eaten. I would definitely go back, and that is the highest recommendation I could give.

We planned our holiday around eating at The Greenhouse and ate there 5 days out of 7 (they were closed the other 2 days). We'd eaten there on a previous holiday and couldn't wait to go back. This is how all restaurants should be run - food and wine are all superb and the beef dripping roast potatoes with Sunday lunch are to die for. We only wish there was a restaurant half as good nearer to home in Berkshire.

St. Ives is gorgeous, but Alba did not meet our expectations. we had pre-booked a table and were placed half a floor above the 1st floor, right next to the dish washer. It was very hectic the whole time as the staff kept walking back and forth behind us. The food was ok. Not bad, but nothing special. We had to send one meal back because it was oversalted - although we were told that the chef said it was fine. The staff and service was rather condescending. All in all, not quite the dining experience we had been looking forward ot.

I love the food in this pub and go back as often as I can. The menu changes regularly and is really imaginative. As a veggie, eating out can get boring but not at The Navy - everything is wonderful and often something I have not had before. The puddings are fabulous and the homemade chips are the best in Cornwall. It's a friendly, relaxed pub with great food and staff that know their stuff and care. I just wish it was in St Ives so I could go more often.

A fantastic atmosphere and great food. The landlord and landlady are lovely. A recommended pub to visit.

After going to Newquay for a long weekend from London, what better than to be in a fabulous resort after having a day in the surf than to go to a brilliant restaurant like Stavros Taverna. The food was wonderful, and having eaten in many Cypriot tavernas in London this was up with the best of the best. Stavros was a peach making sure, as in true Cypriot style that everyone was having a good time. The atmosphere was great. I can highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Went for a beer last week at the Gig Bar, sat outside and watched the sunset with great views of St Michaels Mount. Decided to stay for a takeaway Fish & Chips to eat on the beach. I was really pleased with the quality of the food, it exceeded my expectations, the fish was nicely cooked, juicy and fresh with a crispy batter. Great stuff!

The Dave Thomasson hand dived scallops with black pudding and artichoke puree were divine. Cooked to perfection with a slight caramelisation which complemented the puree perfectly. I really enjoyed the the oxtail and oysters which were served in a suet crust the meat was deliciously tender. However the best course of the night was the espresso brulee with fairground doughnuts. WOW the creamy coffee custard was topped with a caramel laced with childhood "space dust" which crackled on your tongue superbly. The doughnuts were feather light and deeply rich in cinnamon. The best dessert i have tasted , I will be back for more.

Probably the only real Chef in Padstow. Paul Ainsworth is producing imaginative, interesting food in a house in Padstow. The rooms are intimate and friendly with original decor adding to the ambiance. His personal attention on the floor speaks of a talented brigade behind the scenes carrying out his meticulously designed menus. We travelled 1600 miles around England and found little to compare with his excellent food, warm and welcoming ambiance and sensible pricing. Well Done!
