Del Mar – PerranporthWent to Seven Bays Bistro in April 2007 and loved it - MUCH better that Rick Stein. The Monkfish was amazing, the service excellent and the pricing was very fair. My friends and I loved it so much we're already booking a return visit to this fantastic restaurant when we come back to St Merryn in June. CAN'T WAIT!!!!
Seven Bays Bistro – PadstowChef/fisherman couple aim to put a new Port Isaac restaurant on the map! We had lunch at The Harbour Restaurant today (Sun 23 March 08) and were totally blown away by the quality of the food on offer here! At last, Cornwall has a new outstandingly good restaurant that you should definitely put on your shortlist. The Harbour Restaurant is located in a unique 15th century building on the edge of the water at Port Isaac and provides a place where people can have some really good food and wine, for under £30 a head. It has the feel of a wonderful French bistro, with a friendly, cosy, seaside atmosphere and informal feel. I have just found further information about this restaurant that may be of interest to you: The Harbour is run by chef Emily Brown. After training at a top London cookery school, Emily worked for three years in the restaurant industry in Burgundy. Her time there brings French and continental influences to the dishes she creates, which use the best Cornish ingredients available. Emily’s cooking is characterised by a fresh, seasonal menu based on excellent local produce, matched with a wine list featuring great vintages from smaller vineyards at very affordable prices. There are choices for everyone, including vegetarians, and everything is freshly cooked from scratch, from the homemade cakes and pastries to the dressings and sauces. With ingredients sourced from trusted local producers, almost everything she uses has been grown, caught or reared in Cornwall. Seafood is landed, literally, on the doorstep. Cornish cheeses, the best of the season’s vegetables, and meat from nearby farms are all transformed into a contemporary menu with French, British and Italian influences. We will definitely be returning!
The Slipway – Port IsaacWe visited The Harbour Restaurant for the first time today (Easter Sunday 2008) and were extremely impressed. The food was of a very high standard and you could tell that it was all made from scratch, particularly the home-made fishcakes. The raspberry meringue roulade was to die for! The restaurant, which overlooks the harbour, has a cosy bistro-style feel to it and has been very tastefully refurbished. The service was also excellent. We'll definitely be going there again on our next trip to Port Isaac!
The Slipway – Port Isaacvery nice food, you can choose whatever you like to go on your pizza, friendly, helpful staff affordable good honest food!
Pizza Pantry – FalmouthAnother idylic lunch here last weekend. Beautiful day, blue skies but a bit of a breeze. We decided to go out side and they had fleecy blankets for the diners to use. A superb bottle of white oke aged Rioja, fresh and vibrant tomato soup to start. Mains were goats cheese and tomato tart and a warm beef salad, the puddings as usual were sublime, well presented and delicious. Perfect food in a perfect location.
Porthminster Beach Cafe – St IvesI used to work for the Windswept Cafe and i can vouch for all the staff being lovely, genuinely committed people besides the manager, ruth, who just so happens to be from the very hell nightmares call home. She still owes me, and half of the newquay population money. . ..after being able to take no more on the bully/assault front and walking out. I tried to take her to court, but unfortunately had to attend to business overseas. Now i dream until the day we meet again.
Bodhi’s – NewquayI've been to the Windswept Cafe twice so far and plan to go back as often as I can! The views are fantastic and it's a great place to go whether you want an brunch to start your day, a hot chocolate after a walk on the beach or a tasty evening meal. The menu is diverse. The food it well cooked. The service is great and as for the pudding nights they do on the 10th of each month...they're a must! I'm looking forward to checking out one of the Gourmet nights very soon.
Bodhi’s – NewquayWe were very pleased to discover this attractive little deli come pizza take-away open during a cold January evening. We ordered a couple of pizzas which were fantastic - they were cooked in a food fired oven and were the best we have eaten outside of Italy. Good value for money and highly recommended.
The Corner Deli – Helstonfood debris on menu, food debris on walls, food debris in waiters hair, chef picking nose in open kitchen, very old/slightly smelly chicken and pork, garnish on all plates was shredded cabbage and carrot - which was so old and dehydrated it must have been a week old. I am baffled and amazed. Please people, take notice of these details. If their front of house, menus and staff are dirty ... Imagine the inside of the their fridges. A positive note, was nicely flavoured sauces.
Chantek Thai and South East Asian Restaurant – Trurowe read the review in the West brition, whats on guide. Must admit we were a little sceptical, with the reviews comparison to the mighty Rick Stiens in Padstow. But we had the most amazing lunch at Hub, the food was quality and perfectly cooked, hats off to the chef. the staff were really laid back but efficient and the bill came in at a perfectly reasonable price. we were also surprised at the huge wine list, all by the glass. I so wished i was not driving. If in St Ives do try the Hub you will not regret it.

Mandarin Garden The – TruroFantastic meal - Excellent menu for both meat and seafood lovers. Loads of choice. We had seafood every night we stayed. (Lobster, Crab, Monkfish etc) Brilliant place, lovely setting and lovely staff. Well situated between eden project and lost gardens of heligan. Well worth a visit.
Waterwheel – St AustellComfortable surroundings, well sourced food not straight out of the freezer. Pleasant staff. Prices are typical for this type of restaurant and bar prices are comparable to most other pubs in the area. New owners in 2007 have now made this place one of the places to visit in the area. 9 out of 10.
Rosewarne Manor – HayleAbsolutely fantastic! The food, wine and service were all exquisite and in my opinion, far better than fifteen. Cheaper too! ++++
Odds The Restaurant – NewquayThis is a good beer drinkers pub where children are welcome. Being well placed for anyone on the coastal walks in the area around Fowey and Parr it serves excellent food. We know the area well and always make a point of visiting.
Rashleigh Inn – FoweyFantastic - Best Tom Yum soup I've had in years! - very friendly, and reasonably priced - if you get the chance to visit - don't miss it!
Sukothai Restaurant – Penzancehad lunch on 02/01/08, ostrich fillet on mash with chargrilled med veg, and two homemade cheeseburgers, hot choc, coke and angostura lime and soda. could not fault anything, which is unusual, i'm quite a stickler for detail.a lovely lunch on a very cold and windy day.
