Wide variety of good quality food cooked to perfection and very good value for money. Wonderfully clean and tidy with very friendly and helpful staff so we won't hesitate to travel out of our way to eat here again on our next trip to Cornwall.

Another excellent evening at Austells. We were so touched that they remembered us (thank you Emma) even though we can only visit when we are down in Cornwall for a holiday/short break. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for value, service, and above all, excellent food. Look forward to seeing you all again in July!

We have been visiting Brett and Emma at Austells for many years and it just seems to get better every time and considering our first meal was excellent you wonder how it can improve. The service is second to none, all staff very helpful with a warm smile and Brett does what he does best in the kitchen. A1**

Austell's has been through some hard times recently, with changes of ownership and staff. If you feel uncertain, be reassured that all is in running order once again. Brett is back at the helm in the kitchen, and there you may see him turning out a sequence of great dishes of unfailingly high standard. Emma, at front of house, welcomes you and attends to your every need. All the former little touches of elegance are back. And for dining out of this quality the prices are very moderate. You don't believe everything you read in recommendations? Well, don't miss the chance to go and check this one!

The label of Pub Food does not do this place justice. It's a lovely restaurant with delicious, freshly cooked food. Seafood was fresh from the harbour! A great way to finish our day after the Eden Project.

The poor quality food is only beaten by the staff attitude. To be fair when our waitress was fine, but when we complained to the 'manager' he couldn't care less. Would not reconmend to anyone.

We went to Austells for the first time to celebrate our wedding anniversary recently; I have never left a review before but I feel compelled to support a fabulous local Cornish restaurant. Seated at the bar for a pre-dinner drink the friendly staff picked up we were celebrating a special occasion. The two glasses of bubbly were then made "on the house" and when we were shown to our table it had been discretely decorated! A really nice touch! The food itself was fabulous with the rissoto and confit of pork particularly good. Although we ate from the al a carte they are currently providing a "Pot Luck" menu which offers a cut down version of the main menu with a 3 course meal cost for £20. Given the quality of the food that is great value and is obviously popular given how busy the place was for a Thursday evening. The staff were great and with an open kitchen you can watch the Chef prepare your food. We went to Fifteen about 6 weeks ago for my wife's birthday and I can safely say Austells is twice as good and half the price!!

Visited Austells Restaurant Wednesday 17th March 2010 for a quiet Birthday meal for two. Greeted with a complimentary glass of Champagne and it only got better from there on. The food was excellent the staff were very pleasant and attentive and the owner 'Brett' was very welcoming and concerned your food was perfect. This Restaurant is a journey worth the visit and I will be returning again. Highly recommended for adults

This is a lovely pub with great food. The only problem is the 'family room', it's like sitting in a giant shed. No atmosphere and quite cold. Otherwise this place is a real treat!

Visited after finding on Internet and was not disappointed. The food was excellent as was the atmosphere. Would visit again in this holiday or when in area again. Thank you. David and Pauline Burtenshaw, Aylesford, Kent.
