One of the best Indian restaurants around. Food wise, the quality is excellent. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. There is always more than enough to eat and enjoy. One of its best qualities is the lack of pressure to finish your meal. You can relax and take your time if you wish, and have a few drinks in the lounge. Don't forget to try sukhi's Lager - a refreshing pint that's easy on the palette. Its not too gassy, so it doesn't leave you feeling full - and its surprisingly full strength too. Its little things like this that make Sukhi's that bit more special, add to that the good quality food (lamb bhuna to die for!) and its a winning combo. The decoration is a bit 'typical indian' and could benefit from a little modernisation, but on the whole - the pick of the bunch in Darwen and Blackburn area.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Astley Bank a few years ago and have been regular visitors ever since. The food is always exceptionally good with a good variety to cater for all tastes and the staff are very attentive. I particularly like their hors d'œuvres, bread and hand made chocolates made on the premises. On a winter's evening you can relax in the lounge with your coffee after a beautiful meal and warm yourself by the fire and in the summer, you can look out onto or take a stroll in the beautiful gardens. I love it here and will continue to put it top of my list of favourite places to go for the rest of my life I should imagine.

great staff, salt and pepper ribs, squid, chicken wings are best I've tried.

After reading the recommendations of La Salsa thought I would give it try. On the evening of our visit a large party were also eating, i think they struggled to accommodate this ,as myself and my partner were left waiting . Having said this , they did redeem the slow service by the really fresh tasty food, the atmosphere was friendly, overall I would recommend a visit. If a Tapas takes your fancy give La Salsa a go. Lets support local small restaurants , rather than the mass produced versions claiming to be Tapas.

I too have visited la salsa on two occasions sine it opened ,like Jayne the first time we took ou own drinks, the service was excellent, i am going again On Friday 25 august with a few friends, and i have no doubt it will be just as excellent. It is much better than la tasca for us.

i first visited la salas when it opened towards the end of 2006. we visited for a freinds 30th Birthday party and i was very impressed. the food was a lot better than la tasca and the portions were good value for money. i have been about 7 times since with groups of friends and with my partner and everyone has enjoyed it. they have now got a licence to sell alcohol so you can no longer take your own drinks. drinks prices are about the same as other restaurants. check before going as last time i visited they still didnt accept card payments. (cash only).

I have visited MJ's restaurant a number of times and the fact that i keep going back tells you what i think of it. I thought it was about time i let the whole world know just how good this place is. The whole restaurant has a very nice feel to it with the decoration and design very modern. There are lots of nice touches such as large fish tanks embedded into the wall with fancy fish swimming around. The service as you walk in is second to none with the kind staff offering to take your coat and then get your drinks in for you while you take a seat on the comfy, modern chairs. The Menu is superb with lots of choice and for what you get, the price is simply excellent. I always believe that a restaurant has to have good service to win me over, and MJ's certainly has that and on top of that the food is delicious! The corn-fed chicken is a personal favourite of mine. As well as excellent food, the presentation of the food is also second to none. Not only does the food taste great, it looks the part too! The meal has not been thrown together in the kitchen and rushed to your table, a great deal of thought has gone into it! MJ's is certainly the best restaurant in the area as far as im concerned and i know i have not eaten there for the last time! I would absolutely recommend it to anyone!

As a new contemporary restaurant in Darwen I suppose you could say that I'd taken a risk booking here for my mum's 60th. But I just knew it would be a triumph for Neil and the team - and it was. The food was outstanding, the service friendly and interesting (thanks you for waiters with a repertoire outside of - 'here is your table, would you like to see the menu'), the setting brilliant (if your partner stares over your shoulder in a vague fashion he isn't bored he is fascinated by the fishtank), the pricing fair. This is a hidden gem in Darwen and I challenge anyone not to have a fabulous night out - whatever the occasion. You will also find yourself 'thinking Lancashire' and taking some of the passion of the chef with you into your own kitchen. My mum, my nan, and all their friends have made return visits since our celebration evening and are passing on the good word to everyone they know. You too can do the same!

A little above the average. This has been an established Asian food outlet for years and I don't recall a bad experience yet. Not the best, but one to try. The owner is a gem

Darwen has a couple of above average Asian food outlets and this is one of them. The service is always polite and the food regularly meets expectations. Not the best you will ever try, but one to try non-the-less

I am a lover of tapas and me and a friend came across this place a few months back. The food was fantastic, every dish was cooked to perfection and the service was excellent. I've been back several times since and have never been disappointed! I could recommend so many dishes but i'd be here all night. Go and try, it is superb!

This is definitely a take away food style restaurant. The sauces were too thick and there was lots of food colourings used in all most all sauces. But portions are large and will fill you up. Enjoyed the fried rice.

The staff - in particular claire - were outstanding in their service - even the lovely lady - Mary I think - behind the bar could not be more helpful. Well done to all.

I am a curry-holic and have eaten curry all over the country. Sukhis is by far the best for food and service you will find anywhere. The mouthwatering richness of flavours combined with fast friendly service puts this curry house at the top of my list. Try it you will not be disappointed.

Having lived in Darwen for several years and been a regular customer of indian food it is a relief to finally have somewhere that knows how food is supposed to taste. Far superior to any other restaurant locally that I have tried.
