The best Indian food you will ever taste in the UK. I have been to over 100 Indian restaurants & the Anaz is 10 times better than its nearest rival. Consistently so for over 20 years.

Sukhis restaurant is without a doubt, an excellent place to enjoy indian cuisine. I lived in Blackburn for 5 years and ate there regularly. My Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and relaxing atmosphere the restaurant provided. Sukhi himself, is a very genuine, pleasant person and always has plenty of time for customers. I have eaten at countless indian restaurants in the last 15 years and this place is certainly one of the best i have ever had the pleasure to visit.

I have tried many restaurants around the country and would like to think I know a good curry!! Sukhis rates very highly 5* for food service and friendliness, we were served personally by Sukhi k himself, we were also invited to have a drink after the meal with Sukhi and his son who works behind the bar and takes orders. I visited Sukhis on a Wednesday night with my wife 6 yr old son and 2 1/2 yr old daughter, we all had curry?, I had the special mix jalfrezi, wife had chick tikka massala and son had Korai all very nice will definitely eat there again

Mothers day triumph My future mother in law dropped in subtle hints as to where she wanted taking out on mothers day, thus we came to the Whitehall hotel. Upon enquiring about the menu I was pleasantly surprised as to the standard of food on offer and even more impressed with the price. Upon arriving at the hotel we were greeted by the manager and escorted to the lounge where we were seated on very comfy 'chesterfields' in front of a roaring fire. The wine waiter then came over with a glass of bucks fizz and canapes. Shortly followed by the manager with the menu and wine list. At this point i really began to relax confident that the day was going to be a success. I went for the smoked salmon and crab salad followed by roast leg of lamb stuffed with garlic and rosemary. My partner went for the goats cheese fritter and roast topside of beef with yorkshire pudding. Mum went for cream of celeriac soup and seared salmon. The wine list on offer was comprehensive and well thought out and extremely fairly priced. After much deliberation i went for a bottle of Australian chardonnay. The head waiter then came to escort us to our seats, on first impressions the hotel looks homely and well kept but is very deceiving on size as the room into which we were being escorted was huge, obviously their banqueting hall. There must have been 100 people there. The wine arrived chilled, the food was very tasty. My starters was delicious and my companions commented on the tastiness of theirs. Main course arrived piping hot the lamb seemed to just melt in my mouth, the vegetables also very tasty and cooked to perfection. Feeling very full and not much of a desserts man i just could not resist the white chocolate and raspberry creme brulee. My partner opted for the Baileys parfait, her mum the fresh strawberry pavlova. Followed by freshly brewed coffee and mints. Overall i thought the food delightful, the staff attentive and the building delightful. The whole ambiance was settling, there seemed to be a calm but purposeful air about the place. I even forgot about the match. Excellent.... i will definitely be returning if Sunday lunch was this good i can not wait to try the dinner menu. Whitehall.... i will be back.

I would like to take this opportunity of being able to congratulate Sukui & staff on such a great restaurant. I am a Darwen girl living in South Australia. Whilst on holiday 2001 my nephew Joshua McFarlane took my husband & I to Sukhis. I must admit i was pleasantly surprise, from walking into the restaurant & being greeted by the warm & friendly staff ,being able to sit & relax with a drink whilst trying to choose from the menu ( that was the hardest part ). To my surprise Sukhi came to our rescue & talked us thought our likes & dislikes.( I did not know at the time he was the owner) The rest is history we have been back to Darwen 2004,& twice in 2005 and each time we have been to Sukhi.s several times. We have yet to find a comparable one here in Adelaide South Australia

Where else will you be treated as a friend as well as a valued customer! We eat here at least once a week and get a take away around twice a week and we are never disappointed - If you haven? been yet, you don't know what you are missing. Try my favourite dish - King Prawn Rangoon - heaven on a plate

We took a short break in the area and stopped over at this exquisite hotel and enjoyed the luxurious surroundings, located in a small village of Darwen. We were greeted with a smile and were the service was impeccable throughout our stay. The restaurant was furnished as though the queen was coming to visit. And the food gave the impression that we were their royal guests. I had the soup of the day, today being tomato and basil. My partner had a selection of melons with a champagne sorbet. Both dishes were to die for; they really got us in the mood for taste sensation. For the main course we both decided to have the lamb, with hot pot potatoes, spinach and onions, garnished with a range of veg. We both agreed that we have never before eaten lamb as tasty as this, the meal as a whole didn? disappoint for one minuet, and every mouthful left us wanting that bit more. We decided not to have any desert, as we couldn? eat another drop. Although over-heard that the homemade ice cream was second to none. Overall an amazing dining experience that was only dampened on by cheesy tunes from the wedding reception next door. Were not the type to spend a great deal on a meal, but in this case you pay for what you get. We both strongly recommend that even if you don? take up their luxurious accommodation that you get yourself booked in the restaurant and treat yourselves the finest British cuisine the northwest has to offer. 10/10

I have dined at lunchtime over the past few years here and each time the service and food was excellent and I will certainly try the evening meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant because compared to other restaurants in its class I didn't think the price was too bad (approx £16.50 for 3 course lunch and coffee). It's particularly nice when you sit in the conservatory as it looks out onto the garden.
