Local Fireman

I strongly recomenend giving this" little village pub" (A basement under flats)a wide berth, sun evening myself and fellow members of the local fire station chose to have our christmas get together there,1 week prior to the evening i went and ordered our food and paid a deposit,on the evening of the meal i was told we hadn't paid on our previous visit ( to order food) for 1 drink, which i found hard to believe as we had ordered a drink then paid a depositnow comes the real true character of our friendly landlord,i paid in full the additional amount demanded without question, but on leaving ,i said see you next time to which i had a response of "we will see "i took this as an insult after spending in excess of 60 pounds when i asked what he meant i was told "come outside and we will sort it out there"i took this as a direct threat.by now a few of his locals i personally knew stepped in to prevent him from causing me harm as a 17 stone mans, man i found this beyond belief that a little fat man thought he might try to intimidate me,but as a a greater man i left without fuss,i can only recommend unless you enjoy being insulted as a local you stay away or stand the chance of the wrath of our "nice "new landlord

Absolutely awful!!!!! It was my first visit to Badgers Holt today and it will be my last. The staff were very laid back and seemed to be preoccupied even though it wasn't busy. There were two cats wandering about in the dining area. Not very hygienic. When our drinks came out the contents of the mugs were spilt into each saucer and the teaspoons were left dunked in the mugs. The toilets had strip light with a missing bulb, surely a health and safety risk. Also there were scrappy pieces of soap on the basins, obviously full of bacteria. . Definitely will not be returning. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!

I haven't been for years but there used to be a bunk house and a field out the back to camp in. The evening meals where good but there was nothing like the breakfasts with a cup of steaming tea after camping in the field with your breath freezing over the top of your sleeping bag!

Visited on 09 July 2011. Vast improvement from last time we visited which was a long time ago but beautifully presented with lovely artifacts etc. Food was presented very well, very good service and welcoming. Vegetarian risotto was nearly as good as mine! would definitely go there again

A holiday on Dartmoor is not complete without a meal at Badgers Hold at Dartmeet. The food is wonderful, freshly cooked and delicious! The staff are wonderful too. So friendly and comfortable we've been? I've lost count how many times we've been there. Well worth a visit.

We hadn't been in the Burrator for some years and were pleased to see they have had a lovely refurb. They place looks very fresh and yet still cosy. We didn't eat but the menu looked very good and was reasonably priced. The bar man was very friendly and there was a pub quiz on at the time. We were told they have live bands often and also offer free drinks for the driver which we thought was a very responsible thing to do. We'll be visiting again.

Took my father in law here for a Sunday lunch treat. This pub has in the past had an excellent reputation. We were very disappointed. We were the first to order food, and were told that there were no chicken dishes as 'they had run out of chicken'!! The next people to order had chicken. The steak meals we ordered were reminders of 60's pub food. The steak was tough, and the whole dish lacked imagination. To add insult to injury, having finished our main course, the sweet took an hour to arrive, and the most preparation required was 5 minutes in the microwave! This lunch cost around £20/head - no wine included. The staff were very pleasant, the surroundings were dowdy and desperately in need of redecorating.

We eat at the Burrator regularly and have never had a poor meal. Food is fairly plain but very well cooked and presented. The gammon steak is excellent - served with pineapple, cheese and 2 eggs. £8.95

This place is a gem. Located in the tiny village of Milton Coombe, we visited the Inn with our Insight Tour Director. A quaint British Pub with excellent fair (eg organic icecream with clotted cream). A very good selection of cold beers and English ales.

We went there for my Partners 40th - 2 nights ago. I had booked a table for 6 at the "Pub" across the road (left disappointed). At the last minute ran across to the "Jasmine" - trying to find somewhere to accommodate our guests for dinner. The owner of "Jasmine Restaurant" fitted us in at the last minute - no table booked without any hassle. They are very very hospitable and nothing was too much hassle! The food was brilliant and to a very high standard. At the end of the evening after our dinner - they dimmed the lights and brought out my Fiancée? Birthday cake with candles and played "Happy Birthday" - sung by Chinese children from CD. They made our evening perfect and could not have asked for better! A brilliant service and very highly recommended. You won't be disappointed! Tx for a wonderful evening!
