The Sutton Arms – Stockton-On-TeesA place full of character with great food!
The Sutton Arms – Stockton-On-TeesStayed over here last Saturday night and the rooms are good value. It’s a big old Victorian villa set in its own grounds which at some point has been converted into a pub and hotel. We didn’t eat or drink here (other than a good breakfast) so can’t comment on the food or drink although apparently they have a good reputation for both. The upstairs rooms were clean, secure (which can be a concern in a pub) and certainly worth the £59 we paid at a weekend for a double on a bed and breakfast basis.
Parkwood Hotel – Stockton-On-TeesWish we had a pub like this near us! We were visiting friends on Teeside and they took us to their local for a pint or two after dinner at their place. It sits somewhat incongruously in the middle of a residential street in upmarket Hartburn village, on the outskirts of Stockton-on-Tees. The Masham has a lovely beer garden to the rear, a spacious covered area with heaters and various rooms inside. Lovely decor, good beer, and such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. They serve food too but we didn’t have any. Next time!
Masham Public House – Stockton-On-TeesNice pub in a nice "village". Good food too!
Masham Public House – Stockton-On-TeesGreat value, and top class service. A great variety of dishes to try. An we were never rushed. Could have sat there all evening:-D
Peking Garden The – Stockton-On-TeesHi my husband and me have been to the Five Alls a few times and each time we have enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff are really friendly and helpfull. We have been for sunday lunch four times. I can honestly say they are gorgeous, highly recommended. The pub is spotlessly clean, its just a lovely place to be.
The Five Alls – Stockton-On-TeesI have always looked on a visit to Barnacles restaurant as a treat something special Good food and service . The decor is nice too. Then there are the birthday wishes sent every year to me dont get them from other places. H Stokes

Royal Bengal Tandoori – Stockton-On-TeesWE have just come back from having Sunday Carvery lunch at the Mitre. It was the first time we have had our Sunday lunch out and won't be the last. The food was excellent lots of choice, if you like leeks try the creamy leeks they were very nice. We got two choices of thickly cut meat. There was pork, beef, turkey and gammon. The chef was very helpful and chatty to us and the children. Great value for money. Definitely worth a visit and no washing up.
The Mitre – Stockton-On-TeesJust reopened seem to be trying really hard. Always got a decent guest beer on soon be doing food and also local community activities.
Vane Arms The – Stockton-On-TeesThe Centenary was taken over by new management a few weeks ago. Before that My family (eight of us) dined there at least twice a week, lunchtime and dinner time. Last Friday (16th Oct) we ordered our meals at 5.30pm as normal and had a glass of wine and waited and waited. At 6.40 the time we are usually leaving to go home, we had not received our meals and neither had the people around us. I went to the counter and asked about the hold up and was told that there was a two hour delay because the under-manager and manager were cooking the meals as the chefs had not turned up. Why was I not told anything about this when I ordered? I asked for a refund as one of our party, my grand-daughter is 16 months old and she was getting tired and grumpy. The waiter that I asked, Dan, went straight into the kitchen and asked the new manager to come and see me, this happened three times and the manager would not come out to even talk to me. I opened the kitchen door to ask him to come out to talk to me and then realised that the new 'manager' was a very lazy miserable faced ex-waiter and the undermanageress an ex -waitress. The manager refused to come out to talk to me and threatened me with the police if I didn't shut the kitchen door. I went back to my table to find that two of the meals had arrived and the waiter told us that the hold up for the rest was going to be quite a while because the chicken had been dropped on the floor. We left the restaurant and will not be returning.
Centenary The – Stockton-On-Teesthe food was awful - overcooked hard greasy king prawns and the worse chicken parmasan ever - small breast covered in thick lumpy custard like sauce with lump of rubbery cheese on top. This cost forty pounds!
Ship The – Stockton-On-TeesI have eaten here at least half a dozen times and have never been disappointed. The food is truly superb. The most difficult thing is deciding what to choose, everything on the menu sounds so good. On my last visit earlier this month, I chose the scallops to start, beautiful, then had the grilled mixed fish, absolutely fantastic, and then the assiette for dessert. This is a must for anyone who can't make a decision as to what to have for dessert, it is a selection of different things for you to try. It is supposed to be shared by 2 people but they are very generous portions. Everything is homemade, from the bread you get at the start to the desserts at the end, including the sorbet and everything is so beautifully presented. The service is also excellent; staff are attentive without being over intrusive. The current owners have made a huge improvement to the restaurant and it is a lovely place to enjoy a fabulous meal. Being from Middlesbrough I have eaten at many restaurants in and around the area and I can honestly say the food here is the best I've had.
Parkmore Hotel – Stockton-On-TeesFantastic restaurant with superb food!! Will definitely be returning to try out the Sunday Carvery!!
Parkmore Hotel – Stockton-On-TeesNow £9.87 for all you can eat, £2 for a pint of soft drinks and most beers/lagers were £2.60. Really good food made to order, not packed full of salt like most all you can eat places, really nice atmosphere and really nice staff. Really worth the price and fresh. Only problem really was the amount of time it took to get the attention of waiters even though it was hardly full, we were there for about 3 hours and still left feeling like we could have eaten more.
Peking Garden The – Stockton-On-TeesFirst time I have visited the Parkmore for a meal as usually we eat in Yarm, well I know where I will eat from now on. What a great experience food was excellent and waiting staff very attentive. I wish I discovered J's @ 636 a lot sooner. I'm going back again for their lunch offers with a friend next week 2 Courses for £7.95 and 3 courses for £10.95 you can't go wrong.
Parkmore Hotel – Stockton-On-TeesForget the Black Bull, the Pott and Glass is the pub to go to if you want a unique Yarm/Eaglescliffe experience. Situated in the cute and historic tiny village of Egglescliffe, the Pot and Glass just has it all. It offers Ales on Draft, which change every 2 weeks and are always amazing! There is no music, so you can actually have a conversation with your mates! Highly recommended!!!!
