Gulshan Iqbal – East LondonFour of us had a really good meal on a Fri. night. Service was excellent and our table was at a window and reserved just for us. I had telephoned at 6 that evening just to know if a reservation was necessary. We had a few nice pints in the bar afterwoods. Our taxi failed to arrive so the owner Craig phoned a taxi he used himself - cost us half the fare of getting there. Good pub, great food and the owner's a top man.
Captain Kidd, The – East LondonThe best-kept secret in East London. Our favourite Indian, if not overall favourite restaurant in the area! I have to say, when we first discovered it, it was a pleasant surprise - , and the location is a bit off the beaten track, but my is it worth it. The service is fantastic, the food is delicious though - I can't eat food that has too much heat, but they don't just pile on the heat at this Indian - it is spiced properly. This is the best Indian in town!
Empress Indian Cuisine – East LondonBenn dining at this establishment for nearly 15 years. Had to relocate to canary wharf so do not visit it as often. But they never disappoint when i go. The food is outstanding. I hear they are changing the menu now and adding a few signature dishes. Jhal Piazi is the best in town. Will be going back for more!
Dil Chad – East LondonThe best curry place (just outside) The City - as witnessed by the lunchtime clamour for seats. The Meat Biryani beats anything I've had anywhere. A friend over from India said it was the most authentic Indian restaurant he'd found in London. (Oh, and the Samosas are apparently like his mum makes back home) Enjoy!
Halal Restaurant – East LondonThe first time i walked past Baraka i thought it would be pricey and typical like most other restaurants, but the moment i looked at the menu i knew i had to have a taste of there lamb chops with the cous cous ... if that wasn’t enough we got free poppadoms and salad while we waited for our food to arrive...the food was not just excellent but the service was outstanding and the waiters were friendly and helpful .. my meal came up to under £10 ... will defo recommend this place to everyone that wants a low budget meal and for small gatherings ... the atmosphere was lovely and the decor was modern ..
Baraka Eatery – East LondonThis is a little gem of a fish and chip restaurant tucked away off the Whitechapel Road. everything is fresh, nicely cooked and presented well with a good East-end friendly atmosphere. One of the best that I've tried. Lots of grilled choices so you don't have to have fried stuff.
Happy Days – East LondonThe delicious culinary masterpieces of the Mumbai chefs combined with the warm contemporary ambiance makes a visit to Ma'ida a dining experience to remember. Enjoy yourself with friends and family in the private dining facilities, individually climate controlled with your own choice of music (bring your iPod)"..
Ma’ida Indian Eatery – East LondonGreat place to head for if you're hoping to seek out truly authentic Indian cuisine. King prawn suka is one to have.
Muhib Indian Cuisine – East LondonBeen many times, love the atmosphere and had a great time every time. Large groups tend to be on long tables so better in small groups
Haz Restaurant – East LondonI'd recommend to try this restaurant anyone, its a gem! I've eaten there many times over the past 10 Years and enjoyed every meal. Food, service, atmosphere and value for money you can't fault it.

Lahore Kebab House – East LondonWe were a little apprehensive going to a banquet as I think you would normally go as a group. We were very pleasantly surprised we sat with a large group of English women three Swedish couples and one German couple. What a marvellous time we had entertainment, food & drink was of excellent quality and in abundance. Cant wait to go back
Medieval Banquet – East LondonThe first time I went to Baraka I had such a wonderful experience that I couldn? wait to go back again. its such a wonderful restaurant which is tailor made for the Muslim community (since it has separate seating area for ladies and has HMC certified Halal meat). It has to be said that the food and quality service is excellent. If you are planning to have a meal in Baraka and like fish I would recommend you try 'Hilsha'.
