It is an excellent restaurant to go to the service is good the food is mouth watering. It is very busy especially at weekends everyone? really friendly. Now that they have given the restaurant a makeover it looks much better it is incredible. I recommend that you should go there and I? sure that u will be a satisfied customer.

Been to Smith's many times. The food is always excellent, and the choice is extensive. The staff are always happy to discuss your choices with you, and point you in the right direction. And if you aren't happy with anything, it is changed without question. There is live jazz on Tuesday night, which just makes a good night into something really special. I have recommended this restaurant to several people, and nobody has been disappointed.

This was our third visit - early Sunday evening and the place was nicely busy but not hectic so the service was first class. The food, however was a tad disappointing with a somewhat waxy textured black pudding and risotto cake for starters and a smallish fillet of sea bass for mains. Previous visits have impressed with quality, quantity and ambience so hopefully not every day is like Sunday!

Third visit to Smiths and excellent food and service again. Fixed menu is excellent value with great choice - not something you see on fixed menus. Highly recommend.

Fantastic restaurant. Only our 2nd visit, but will go back many times again in the future. Great food, and attention to detail is stunning. serving staff are very good, and nothing is too much trouble. Well worth a visit.

I think the food was delicious this is what I called an outstanding cuisine. Now that they have decorated the restaurant, it can now beat any restaurant in Manchester. The service was great the waiters were friendly. The only down fall is that the Balti is all ways full and it is hard to get a table on a busy weekend so it is always best too phone in and make a booking. The service was amazing, friendly and very personal (...sadly this doesnt seem to be a British priority these days) and that is why I return here over and over again!!!! No grumbles about the quality of the food (Im very fussy about meat but the quality of the meat here was excellent) and the restaurant decor is very contempory and modern, yet cosy not sterile!

The Eastern Tandoori is the best Indian Restaurant this side of Rusholme. Inexpensive, Friendly, and Welcoming most of the time. Avoid On Friday/Saturday nights as drunken hordes amass. Other than that absolutely great.

Here is a light that will never go out..... Brilliant restaurant. Great food, great atmosphere, fantastic wines and bottled Timothy Taylor's Landlord. What more can I say? Except that it's jazz night on Tuesday and the waitresses (and waiters) are all fab.

I think smiths is one of the best restaurants we have ever been to! It has great food and don? forget the wine!! It also has lively atmosphere and the service is outstanding!

I took my father to this restaurant when he was recovering from an operation. The staff could not have been more accommodating an excellent range of specials and the staff took time to recommend some superb dishes. Ambience is great not to busy etc. Wonderful wine selection a must for all great food lovers!!!!

What can I say, had an absolutely wonderful evening. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food a delight. I went with a group of friends and we had a truly great evening. We didn't feel rushed to finish. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

very nice place to eat but if you ask for a quiet part of the place you may be put upstairs due to the live band they plays downstairs sometimes but unfortunately you cant help the other noisey diners

This must be one of the best restaurants in the whole North West. Dave, Justin and Elaine create such a wonderful atmosphere and their staff are relaxed but very efficient. This puts the diner at ease. Try to visit on Tuesday nights if you like Jazz as they have live music from Jeremy Sasson and others. Dave's wine list is very well thought out and the specials board changes from week to week. I have been going since it opened and have always had good food and wine. Try the Eccles cake and custard if you have a sweet tooth, Always a favourite.

Generally the food is good however the addition of several dishes of vegetables to supplement the main can prove to be expensive. Veg is cheap, owners of Bistro 221 please note, it should be included in the price of the main course as many other restaurants do.

On this occasion we did not go to the restaurant but the restaurant came to our house with superb outside catering.

Judging by how busy the place was early on a Tuesday evening, it must be something special! Very good value considering the high standard of cooking and service. Portion sizes are hefty as well, so don't order sides dishes unless feeling very greedy. Reccommended to me by a friend, and fussy me is inclined to agree it's a bit of a gem!!
