Our first visit to Ravelston House and found the service and the food exceptional. I ordered the rib eye steak & chips accompanied by pepper sauce and the biggest onion rings I have ever had. Mrs had a Veggie Enchilada. The steak was very flavourful and went well with the big portion of pepper sauce . The Veggie Enchilada had ample filling but the tenderstem broccoli was to hard ,so was left. The portions were large and Mrs asked for a take away as she couldn't eat it all. All in all a very enjoyable lunch abd we will certainly return in the future.

Cracking good but it was like sitting in a fridge. Totally freezing so couldn’t wait to get out hence the reason we only had one course. Also floor was soaking wet so very slippery and strong smell of bleach which put me off a bit as well. Why could the cleaning not have been done early

Had a lovely lunch at the Ravelston, I had the macaroni cheese. It was lovely and Cheesy. The staff are friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much problem.

8 off us ladies were in on Saturday for dinner. Food was delicious, service even better

The food here is top quality, the portions are a good size, the service is faultless. I'm in their dining room at least twice a month. Recommendation to anyone thinking of booking, you won't regret it.

The meal was very nice and a good choice. The staff were very pleasant and quite accommodating . We will certainly be back as we have already booked for an other visit with some other friends

Serving staff were lovely. We waited a very long time for our food to arrive, despite ordering within 10 mins of arriving. The macaroni was dried out, and cold. We were charged for drinks we didnt have, which was questioned by staff. So, after being in for 2 hours, when it wasn't that busy, it was seriously disappointing. We won't be back any time soon

Lovely meal in the restaurant

Arrived on time for booking, nobody to be seen. Eventually got met, told to sit anywhere, due to staff shortages. 50 minutes from ordering to starter, another 30 till main course. The place was freezing. Food was very poor, the staff dud try their best, however not enough staff to deal with large group.

Our table was booked for 2.30pm and we had all pre-ordered our meals. We noticed a lack of staff, and those that were there appeared not to want to engage with us. There were no crackers on the tables and the restaurant was cold. Absolutely no Christmas spirit at all. Our starters arrived at 3.15pm, though the pate and brie was served first and by the time the soups were served, the other starters had been finished. We were ordering our own drinks from the bar, but none of the glasses were cleared away until we spoke to you. We waited another hour and there was no sign of our main courses, and at that point my father asked to speak to you. You were very dismissive, and didn’t offer anything by way of apology. When the main courses arrived, these were definitely below a standard I would expect. The beef was tough, the turkey appeared to be out of a tin, the veg was hard. I emailed the above to the restaurant hoping for at least an apology, but after 10 days have had no response. Sadly, after many years of going to this restaurant, we wont be returning.

Overall, average. Found the service to be rather slow, even though we were the only table eating. There was one other table of 4 however they had all eaten and were finishing up. It was just us but the food did take a while to appear. Staff were friendly however not very attentive. No offer of anymore drinks after our first order and plates sat empty on the table for a while before they were collected. Garlic bread was literally a slice of white bread with butter and a bit garlic over the top. Not what we were expecting and didn't taste that great. Creamy chicken and mushroom pie wasn't creamy. It was a runny clear sauce inside that also didn't taste that nice. However the steak pie my partner had was tasty and filled with meat. Overall average experience but wouldn't rush back.

I have been to The Ravelston many times before. I found the Festive Lunch was very nice, however, the vegetables were overcooked and too hard. Apart from that, the staff, food and value for money were all excellent. i would definitely come back again in the near future.
