how good is the food

Brewers Fayre – Glasgow

My family and I ate here twice recently - the atmosphere was relaxing and romantic - the food was amazing ( I had Spanish sausage pasta and hubby had Monkfish which he said was to die for!) My little girl who can be quite fussy absolutely loved their spaghetti bolognese and couldn't eat the chocolate cake quick enough!! Finally I've found an Italian restaurant that can make a decent hot chocolate too - definitely worth a visit or two!! Just a shame its in Glasgow as we live 3 hours away!! Compliments to the owner and staff for such a wonderful experience.

I have been going to this restaurant for about 6 years now and refuse to go anywhere else...nothing compares! The staff are very friendly and the food is like no where else, huge portions at reasonable prices. Although there can be a wait for tables it is definitely a jewel worth finding.LOVE THE DELHI!!

Return to this place over and over again. Every dish I have ever tried is always brilliant, the service is great and the prices cant be grumbled at. Yes even when you book a table you need to wait, but I think the fact it is so busy speaks for itself.

Anarkali is my local curry house, but I would travel across Glasgow to get to it - its really that good. However, I'd like to comment on the remarks below which concern me about the area. I live in one of those traditional Glasgow tennament flats or 'dosshouses' as the previous comment says, drink in many of the 'dens', or pubs as we call them and have never witnessed a drive by shooting in all my years there and in the vast number of visits to Anarkali, have never witnessed any ladies of the nite, drunks swigging from vodi bottles or curry flying around. Dont be put off by the last comment, its the south side of Glasgow - not Helmand Province!!

You can get some of the best Indian food in Glasgow at The Village, especially the cafe downstairs. But Oh Dear - the toilets! The management don't seem to realise that customers expect CLEAN toilets with hot water, soap and paper towels or a working hand dryer. They serve great food and it's amazing value for money but for goodness sake spend a few quid to civilise the toilets!

This is one of the best restaurants in East Kilbride. Its menu is varied and caters for people who don’t like seafood. For those seafood lovers, the fish is very fresh and is cooked to perfection. The staff are friendly and attentive. It is quite a small restaurant so to avoid disappointment I would recommend you book beforehand, especially weekends. It is also good value for money and if you have an appetite after your main course, I would definitely try their desserts as they are delicious

After 8 years away from China sea restaurant, nothing much has changed apart from spoiled choices from their economic menu. I was surprised one of the waiters, a talkative young man, actually remembered us after all these years. My wife and I ordered our usual meals, but to our disappointment, not only were there no improvements with this economic downturn, the meals were worst than before. The really upsetting moment was when we pleasantly give the management a comment, since we were asked at the end of our meal, we were given rude feedback. Apparently the manager just can't accept the truth. One last comment, my wife noticed a hygiene issue which must have been overlooked by the Environmental health officers, is that the ladies toilet, not to mention tiny, is carpeted, which shouldn't be ( or is it acceptable? ) for hygiene reasons. Anyway, these are just our experience recently in the China Sea.

A pal of mine told me about the Anarkali about a year ago. Coming from the east end of glasgow myself i had only ever really eaten curries from kebab shops and the like. The delhi Darbar in auchinairn is probably about the best i had had til then. however, after one visit to the Anarkali i was hooked. The chicken tikki karahi is amazing and the garlic naan was indescribable. the portion sizes are huge so me and the missus usually get one meal to share and we're still completely stuffed afterwards. the best indian i've ever had....thats no lie. I reckon you'd need to jump a flight to india to taste a better indian meal. plus its directly accross the road from the Tir Connail bar ans the Queens Park cafe which is handy for a pre-meal drink. Enjoy

Good food, lovely restaurant and great staff, but, 5.75 for a glass of ordinary Rioja spoilt an otherwise excellent lunch which is a shame.

Went along to Snooks for dinner with my mum and son...what a night we had. The staff are very warm and welcoming and can't do enough for you to make your evening an enjoyable one. After looking at the menu, we couldn't decide on what to order - there is so much to choose from, such variety. Finally, we did decide and we weren't disappointed with our choice. The starters were delicious, but our main meals even more so.The Surf n Turf and T-bone Steak were mouthwatering. Our waiter was especially helpful when it came to my sons favourite meal of chicken nuggets - he asked if he would prefer batter or breadcrumbs on the freshly prepared chicken. Didnt think we would have room for dessert, but after seeing what was on offer we just had to try.... choca roca cheescake was to die for! It makes a nice change to go out to a restaurant with friendly, attentive staff instead of the usual conveyor belt of get them in and out. I'll be back.
