This was my second visit. Staff attentive but felt a little rushed. Our starters and main courses were over within 50 minutes. Presentation and food delicious. I ordered the pan fried seabass for main course- expensive for 2 very small fillets on a bed of rice. More like London prices. Very noisy table of 10 opposite but that's the chance you take, Will be back to try Sunday lunch, Gosforth needs a nice restaurant like this,

Stock caters for literally every event. This week was our 3rd time and it didn’t disappoint. Our first visit was Christmas Day which was splendid, our second was for Sunday lunch with the kids which didn’t disappoint and is unique on the high street. This week we had a midweek pal date. We started with the mussels & surf and turf, then we had the pie and the duck for mains. It was absolutely spectacular accompanied by a lovely bottle of red. Really reasonable for the quality of food, the atmosphere and the service.

We visited Stock last night for the first time and were impressed as soon as we walked in. The decor and general vibe was really lovely. The food was second to none. I had the terrine, belly pork and cheesecake and all were 10/10. The service was fabulous too. The guy who served us was very helpful when we asked for recommendations. We’ll definitely be returning soon.

Excellent food, crab, lamb and a to-die for creme brûlée. Great to find a venue like this in Gosforth. Long overdue and fingers crossed it stays for a good long while. We will be back very soon!

Lovely food and wine. Enjoyed both trips - a pricier dining experience but well worth it. Genuinely thoughtful menu and flavours with lovely presentation. Would highly recommend

Atmosphere and presentation was lovely! Wine menu was brilliant. The menu again, brilliant but the food did let the experience slightly. My Burrata starter was over salted and the addition of citrus was far too overpowering. I had roasted pork belly for main (as part of the Sunday Menu) and it was very dry. The fat on top was really tough and didn’t have the desired effect. The veg was also very aldente. Cannot fault the wait staff, who were fantastic. We will definitely come back, I’m just not sure for a roast. The high street needs a place like this!

At last a High Street restaurant in Gosforth to shout about.A true dining experience with a focus on quality ingredients and great service. Happy to call it my local and so great to have this on the doorstep.

We came with high hopes as Gosforth desperately needs more decent restaurants The service was excellent The ambience pleasant if a little bright The menu was limited and no sea bass or catch of the day available The food was a massive disappointment and really did not justify the price paid I hope this place succeeds but we will not be planning a return trip

So pleased to finally have somewhere a little different in the area and truly hope it’s a success for the owner. Firstly the decor is lovely and atmosphere pleasant though our table for two felt a little squished in the middle so not ideal but think they had moved tables around to accommodate a larger party. The service was great, particular mention for the lady from Poland, didn’t catch her name but she was really friendly and attentive, the other servers we encountered were good too. Food - unfortunately we found it a little lacking/uninspiring given the price point. Cost was on par with the likes of Peace and Loaf but fell short of those standards. Perfectly pleasant just not memorable and my main lacked flavour and a few menu options weren’t available. Word on the street seems to suggest a recent change in chef as diners last month seem to have been much more impressed. Hopefully it’s just a case of the new chef finding their way . Really hope that he does as that’s what will determine if folk come back more than once, for us we had a really nice night but think we will be waiting a little while for a return visit. Best of luck and thank you for the much needed investment in the area.

Had a fantastic night out at Stock. Attentive service, great food with a fabulous wine list. Only quibble was that it was quite cold during our meal. However, we will definitely be back.

Excellent meal. There were six of us, all having different dishes but we all agreed the quantity of the food and service was outstanding. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance enhanced by the open kitchen. The wine list included an eclectic selection but the wines we chose were excellent quality and though expensive, they were in a way value for money in a high end restaurant such as Stock. The staff were friendly and professional adding to the general feel of an excellent restaurant.

I've been waiting for a quality restaurant in Gosforth for 25 years - utterly perplexed by the lack given the opportunity. Finally. Atmosphere was very pleasant, service friendly and efficient. At first I was a little disappointed by the menu which seemed unimaginative - lots of standard dishes, however when it arrived the quality of the food and the presentation was truly excellent. I'm hoping that they'll give the chef more room to experiment with an occasional new dish. I'd also like to see more emphasis on locally source ingredients. All in all, a very enjoyable evening.

Really enjoyable evening . Seating was perfect and cosy . Staff helpful and attentive . Food was delicious. This is just the place gosforth needs .
