This place is incredible. The food is delicious- everything on the menu looked brilliant. We had the pie and the sea bass and both were delicious and presented beautifully. The staff were really lovely and friendly. Our waitress was Carolina and she was very down to Earth and happy to help. The atmosphere was very chilled and relaxing. Will definitely visit again.

Firstly, it is good to see a fine dining restaurant finally arrive in Gosforth High Street. We thought, however, that it was nothing special on our visit. Reasonable quality and just about worth the price but no more - hence the 3/5 scores across the board. . It is, however, early days and we’ll visit it again after it has had time to find its feet properly.

Six of us had dinner and we all loved our meal. Starters, mains and then three puddings and six spoons! All delicious. We would all highly recommend. Only comments, some non alcoholic beers/drinks and decaf coffees would be great. Also there were too many lilies around, generating lots of pollen. Otherwise a fabulous new addition to Gosforth/Newcastle.

Absolutely amazing, is so nice to finally have a fine dining option in Gosforth and not have to travel to town. The service was great but it is the food that is truly outstanding. It is not cheap but lovely for a special occasion. The crab was outstanding.

Sunday lunch was a great treat. All food was beautifully cooked and presented. The service was very good, too. So pleased we have this on Gosforth High Street.

All food was very tasty, service was great too. We both had crab starter, which was fantastic. I had belly pork which didn’t come with much on the side…oh, and the crackling was so crispy I couldn’t cut through it even with a steak knife that was provided once requested..tried my teeth but I didn’t want to risk my veneers… My daughter had duck which was considerably larger in size with lots of sides… It’s was a really lovely meal overall…pricy at £93 with 2 soft drinks only but great food!

Fantastic meal in lovely surroundings. The Christmas menu was excellent value and the food was all very tasty. We will definitely come back for another meal in the New Year.

What a brilliant addition to the high street just what it needed - enjoyed Sunday lunch - perfectly cooked beef and chicken - great service would highly recommend and will definitely be back

Lovely food and great service. All very reasonably priced. We’ll be back for dinner again soon. The decor in the restaurant was also very tasteful.

Firstly, thanks for opening the first ‘restaurant’ (excluding decent Italians etc) on Gosforth High Street in many years! Food, decor and service were all great. If anything the portions were a bit too generous. Yes, a couple of teething problems to sort but you know and will sort that. Give this place a chance!

Had dinner on their opening night and we were very impressed. Food was amazing and the staff were great. A great addition to the area and we look forward to returning very soon!

Sunday lunch today was a treat. We didn't have a starter as we thought we would do dessert instead, alas there was no room. I had the lamb and my husband the beef and both were delicious, the meat was so tasty and succulent. The only thing I could find fault with was the amount of vegetables, there was cauliflower cheese (delicious) , pickled red cabbage, mashed carrot and turnip and a bowl of greens. All were so tasty but we couldn't do them justice, too much. Will definitely be going back.

This hidden gem discovered by my grand daughters, quick and helpful service, everything was so so delicious and a great healthy menu of choice. Highly recommend, I will return.

We decided to go on Sunday evening at 8. We ordered the house white which was fine. My wife ordered a caprese salad and I ordered Prawn Cocktail. The caprese salad consisted of a whole piece of mozzarella ,four uncut tomatoes and a large pile of lettuce thrown on a plate without any presentation at all. However the prawn cocktail was lovely. Next the mains. I ordered Chicken Valdostano and my wife ordered Flattened Rump steak cooked medium rare. The chicken was battered as expected but was covered with green beans and a strange but not unpleasant tasting sauce. the menu said it was served with roast potatoes but instead there were five chips hidden under the chicken, however it tasted fine. My wifes meal on the other hand was awful the steak was over an inch thick and almost raw and the plate was swimming with blood. she had a sharp knife but could not cut it. If was supposed to be flattened steak. After complaining the staff were very apologetic and deducted it from the bill and gave us a complimentary coffee. she said that it was the second complaint they had received that evening. I have been going to this restaurant for the last twenty years under its various names but will not return to Allard's lounge.
