Best kebabs in the north- east .

That's a lie what you have said ,I've been ordering from then a nearly 4 years and max for delivery on the weekend an hour ,so what they have delay your order on very bad condition of weather ???how horrible is that ?they make the best food in north east.

Never buy your takeaway from Gosforth Flame, just waited nearly 2 hours for our food. I've actually cancelled it. Was told at 8 the driver had left 10 minutes prior to my call. Then when I rang 45 minutes later, they said the driver had left 25 minutes ago. This happened the last time we ordered from them but it was snowing so that gives them an excuse but howay

This is the best Italian restaurant and deli in Newcastle. The food is always the best and the service excellent . All the staff are friendly, bellisimo

Lovely, friendly and family run restaurant. Been back load of times and recommended to work, family and friends who have all gone and all returned. Prices are very good. Service excellent always. Various food tried and all lovely. Old assembly rooms building, a bit strange walking in with painting on the walls but restaurant lovely, clean and comfortable. Love it.

Have just rung the Basilica as we were meant to be meeting up with a group of friends there tonight. I was enquiring about access for my disabled husband. I was informed that there were a lot of stairs and no lift. The person I spoke to seemed to be completely disinterested and not at all apologetic. We obviously will not be going.

Worst experience ever as far as restaurant experience. Staff not very attentive, helpful or friendly and only concentrate on filling your wine glass. We tried it a second time to give it the benefit of the doubt to our disappointment. We had to ask for the menu's, we had to ask the staff to take our order, we were then informed the food choices we made were not available, with no alternative, we then had to wait over an hour for our food which we only received because we asked where it was. Staff are very rude and unhelpful. We would not go back to this restaurant, turned a very nice evening sour.

The restaurant is a bit more pricey than the norm, but I had heard good things about it (heard lots of bad things now) so went with a client early July 2009. The interior is excellent and the restaurant was busy (good sign) but it went downhill rapidly from there. The staff are nothing short of arrogant - the main waiter needs a personality! When we came to order we were told the pizza chef had gone home, so no pizzas. So ordered starters and pasta. I ordered a stuffed pepper at £6.95 - what i got was half a pepper filled with rice, with an olive on top - with a little bit of tasteless oily tomato sauce. It was served so hot it was steaming and I had to wait 5 minutes to cool down. It was awful, but not wanting to cause a scene when I was with a client I said nothing. Then the main course arrived. I ordered a penne arribiata - simple - pasta with a spicy tomoato sauce. First off, the portion size would not have filled my 6-year never mind me, then as soon as I put my fork in I could tell the pasta wasnt cooked - al dente is good - this was totally undercooked to the point the pasta clinked when knocked together - then the arribiata sauce - no spice to it at all, no flavour to it all all - this restaurant managed to make a tomato sauce that doesnt even taste of tomato! This was the final straw, so I complained and along came the senior waiter - wow, what an attitude problem - "You have a problem?" "Yes, the pasta is undercooked, the sauce is tasteless and has no spice to it at all, and whilst were on the starter was awful too". His response - "you talking about the starter or the main course?" I said both, to which he replied "What you want me to do?" I was so incensed, no apology nothing. I said take it away I dont want it and I dont want anything else to eat if this is the standard of your food. The response "OK" my plate was picked up and off he went. My advice - Dont go anywhere near this overpriced, over rated, poor restaurant. There are 4 or 5 decent italians on Gosforth High St, from San Lorenzo, Bella Scicilai, Fifi's and even Pizza Express - Avoid Adrianos

had a steak here at the weekend - brilliant ribeye. quality chefs and quality food.

Quality food and excellent service. A must go to for any pub grub enthusiast.

Top of the range for a sunday dinner. if you live local i couldn't understand eating anywhere else.

This was our first visit. An unfriendly waitress greeted us and led us to a table in the main thoroughfare, we asked if we could have a window seat but we told they were booked (2 tables remained empty throughout our meal) Calves liver starter was nice but mussels/clams were tasteless. Signature dish of roasted suckling pig was an expensive disappointment as mostly bone,gristle,fat & accompanied by nice veg but ? one potato between two of us!!

Don't bother. Over priced, tasteless food with very poor service.

Myself and fiance were here on a Saturday night. Service was very good, lots of room so you don't feel squashed in. The food was excellent. Really recommend it.

We booked our table for 8.30, still sat in bar at 9.20, others had been waiting over an hour. They wouldn't turn anyone away so were far too full and couldn't cope. They hadn't a clue who had been waiting the longest or who had booked etc. They offered us a free drink while we waited but when we got up to leave chased us for the money!

Very exceptional service from staff, impressive inside & out. Treated like royalty, Food is amazing.. Very nice place.. Definitely recommended.
