Whilst the staff were very helpful and friendly, we had a rather long wait for our grandchildrens meals, and one of the meals was overcooked and dry. Also portions not very generous especially the fries. Added to that paying £ 2.20p each for a small carton of juice for them was rather extortionate.

House Twenty8 – BasingstokeReal shame! :( Moved to Basingstoke 2 months ago, had 5 takeaways from here since, normally good food but last Friday took 2 hours to arrive and was freezing cold when it did. Spoke to Duggan the manager who was very apologetic and offered a free meal, just called that that free meal in that came with an abusive delivery guy telling me I wasn't a valued customer and should pay £20! Won't be using again!
The Spice Restaurant – Basingstoke"Terrible" Me and my husband decided to go for a dinner to your restaurant. We have been there couple of times and always enjoyed it. Unfortunately this time was a nightmare. Restaurant is open till 23:30. We walked in at 9 PM. They sat us down And offer drink. We chose a bottle of wine and jug of water. In couple of minute server brought wine to us, but forgot water. That's OK so far. Within next 5 minutes we have Been asked 3 times if we are ready to order. I said no, we have not look on the menu yet and i will let him know when we will be ready. And I don't want mention this should be our romantic dinner. When we finally ordered starters which was tasty, but again manager and server have nothing better to do just steering on us and before I have finished my starter the manager try to take away my plate and telling my husband "hurry up your food will get cold". Well excuse me???? How rude! I didn't know if he is just joking, be he wasn't! I told him that we are going for cigaret and went out. Within that they brought my meal on the table and left there. Suddenly door has opened while we was smoking and he has repeated again "hurry up your food getting cold". We went inside I called manager a told his he can take away food, because he just ruin our dinner. I have lost my appetite and don't want to stay there another minute. I am paying for my dinner and don't need to be told how I have to eat and to be rush!!! Never! I have paid my bill -excluded mains which we send back and left to order Chinese take - away. I am a manager in restaurant and this is just not acceptable. If I will treat my customers like this I might be jobless!!!
Bengal Brasserie – BasingstokeFantastic service, scallops and parfait very good. Main course good too. Wine very well chilled. Pudding amazing with a subtle but tasty lemon Creme Brûlée. Very good value for money. Will definitely be returning.

The Sun Inn Dummer – BasingstokeMarie-Louise & Andres have brought a London Eating House to rural Hampshire, without the City prices. The menu changes daily, and Andres's Catalan origin is evident in the cooking. Every meal that I have had there has impressed me. The wine list is one of the best that I have come across, I believe that Marie-Lou was a wine professional which shows in her choice of wines. Try the MAN Pinotage or Iona Sauvignon Blanc which are among our favorites. Their Bib Gourmand entry in the 2011 Michelin Guide is well deserved.
Purefoy Arms – BasingstokeGreat gastronomic experience. Not just your everyday country pub. The menu is highly unique with the influence of the Spanish chef the food displays a very clever mix of local traditional food with a Spanish twist. The wine list too is not to be ignored. Really worth a visit. A worthy winner of the Bib Gourmand award 11
