Excellent place to eat, apart from the price!!!

We visit The Anchor about once a month usually at teatime on a Friday. It can be very busy and at times there isn? enough staff to cope. Saying that though, the food is varied and well presented and the surroundings are pleasant. We have never had a bad meal in there. Worth a visit!

The Chimneys always has a laid back welcoming atmosphere of a comfy country pub (even if it is just 2 mins from the M53!) which is great. Plenty of non-smoking areas too - which is a bonus. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food selection is great (although only one vegetarian dish). Our starters were great, our mains didn't live up to the first course sadly - a bit overcooked, which was disappointing given the strong start.

Consistently average/good food in a restaurant that is typical of most Chinese restaurants. A bit more homely than most with exposed wood beams, but not the last word in interior design. In my opinion, there are others that do it better, albeit not close by. Very friendly service. Prices reasonable.

I had a lovely meal in a warm friendly environment. The service and food was great and the atmosphere was warm and pleasant. Very enjoyable.

Quite nice. Nice food, but the staff seem quite stressed, they must be a bit busy.

This is a good place its easy to get to aswell. I went with my girlfriend and we had a great time. We spend most of it talking to the staff.

Nice pub with a good selection of Thwaites real ales and some interesting lagers with a great weissbier. Roast beef was excellent- served rare and very tender. Pub had quite a relaxed atmosphere, and though not posh, was genuine with friendly staff

I liked this place and the chef knows how to cook an egg (that's quite rare these days!) but the manager insisted on calling me 'mate'. I was always taught that in the service industry business you call a lady madam and a man sir no matter what the age or appearance.

Well above the normal quality for pub food - very pleased with both a pie and a burger we chose. Great to eat at a pub and be pleased with what is served. Thanks!

Excellent food. You could taste the quality and freshness. Exceptional friendly service. Outstanding cleanliness. Well worth a visit. Moved into the area 3 months ago and its my number 1 take away. Salmon and haddock recommended.

Super deals at lunchtimes, even at weekends. I have been disappointed with the a la carte menu compared with the inclusive lunch menus. The desserts are often fabulous and the artwork on the walls is distinctive. Worth a visit.

The service, food and surrounding at Sheldrakes are exceptional. The staff are helpful and accommodating. A splendid restaurant, well worth a visit.

What can i say, absolutely fantastic we had a great evening with good food good wine and excellent service. Highly recommended.

Both my date and I had a fantastic evening. Both the food and the ambience were perfect, and the staff were very attentive without being overbearing. I will be recommending to friends. My only wish is that I could do it more often, but it was such a special evening that I would only return with the same company.

The atmosphere in the restaurant and views were stunning. The staff were great, we never needed to ask for anything. A real romantic night out out which will be remembered forever.
