I live just above the Grove in Ilkley and visited The Veggie recently on a Friday evening. It has to be said the food is very good for the price, it tastes home cooked and the salads are wonderful. The prices are OK at £7 ish for evening meal, only thing I would say is the place is a bit small (they had to turn people away) but I suppose that's cozy. There are quite a few places in Ilkley to eat but I would say this is in the top 3, I will be going again and I am not even a vegetarian.

I highly recommend dinning at Emporio Italia, if you love fine food, good wine, great service and the true authentic feeling of being right in the heart of Italy...You must go!

We tried this restaurant eight times in eight weeks for both eating in and takeaways. The food is consistently excellent with a wide range of both vegetarian and non vegetarian options, meals not on other restaurant menus and the ingredients all good quality (no frozen veg). The service is polite and prompt and the decor is subtle and comfortable. The only down side is it's popularity which leads to big queues around 7.00 pm onwards and a distinct lack of parking. I would suggest getting in early and/or walk/taxi/bus (bus stop directly outside).

We had a lovely Christmas experience at Piccolino's on 12th December 2008 the staff were excellent and the atmosphere was great. Catering for a group of 40 can never be easy however we found everything was handled in a really professional manner. Thanks also for your help with our other reservation on the 20th December after we were cancelled by another Ilkley restaurant.

My friends took me to lunch at this cosy vegetarian restaurant situated very near the centre of Ilkley. We had cheddar and cranberry melt and lentil and bean chilli with homemade mince pies for afters. The meal was superb and the service was very friendly and efficient. I can highly recommend this as a great place to dine when one is in Ilkley.

I had seen this new restaurant whenever we drove past. Then at last I had an opportunity to come here with my vegan friends and although I am not vegetarian I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I shall certainly come again and can recommend this to anyone visiting Ilkley.

I now live in Ilkley and visited G&B in early October with my two children, (6 & 8). I chose a special from the blackboard which was a seasonal vegetable stew with sage dumplings, it was delicious. Tom and Catherine shared an egg mayo sandwich which came with a small salad (the bread was really very good, apparently it is from the locally famed Bondgate Bakery) and they both said it was "scrummy!". They also offer a selection of traditional cakes which like everything else is homemade - we had Victoria Sponge and Banana & Walnut Loaf which were wonderfully light and moist. To sum up, I would say it's a welcome addition to Ilkley, family friendly with simple tasty food based on good principles, vegetarian and organic - we will go again.

This is a cosy little café situated fairly close to the centre of town. It comes in very handy too when you are shopping in the nearby superstore to drop in for a quick snack or lunch. We’ve been on two occasions and have enjoyed both visits. The meals were delicious, the service was cheerful and friendly, and the two young ladies who run the business are ever so ready to accommodate your dietary needs. This is a great addition to the eateries in the town and a very good reason for visiting Ilkley.

We heard about this newly opened vegetarian café and decided to give it a try. It is a small café, cosy and very friendly. The two young ladies who run it are ever so friendly and helpful. I had the butternut squash and chick pea curry, which was very delicious. Situated fairly close to the centre of town, it is a welcome addition to the attractions of the town. We shall certainly be coming here again. I can recommend this place to one and all.

One of the best meals out I've ever. The food was exquisite and beautifully cooked and all three courses were amazing. My dining companion has Coeliac disease, and so was particularly pleased by the number of gluten-free options on the menu, especially the deserts where GF options are normally lacking at other restaurants.

We ate here during March 2008, our second visit. Friends took us the first time and we took friends on our second! The food was extraordinary and the service some of the best ever experienced. The flavours are exquisite and well balanced. Prices reasonable for the quality of food. And, unusually for an oriental restaurant, amazing desserts!

Excellent for a childs party but please remember parents, there are other people eating and your children should be under some form of supervision and control. My daughter and I called in for lunch on Saturday we waited a few minutes to attract a waitresses attention to be seated. We were offered a table in the corner of the restaurant. Another 10 minutes passed before i could attract another waitress to take our order. When she was about to leave I had to prompt her that we would also like some drinks. The food arrived fairly quickly and was ok, however the children were allowed to run freely around the tables unsupervised by their parents and unchecked by the staff which made for very uncomfortable eating. All that Pizza Expresss needs to install is a ball pool and it would be an ideal replacement for Charlie Chalks. As you might have gathered from this comment, we will not be visitng Pizza Express again.

My wife and I went to the Box Tree on the 5th October 2007 for our 5th wedding Anniversary. This was a very pleasant experience and the food was flawless and the atmosphere very relaxed. The building it self makes you feel like you are about to experience something very special, it delivered and we will go back again.

Pizza express is one of my favourite restaurants to visit. The food is always to perfection and the service is usually fairly quick. However, i found that the service at this particular restaurant was rather rude. Simple things such as asking if we were enjoying our meal, saying thank you as we left etc. Myself and my partner of 25 years were seated round a corner which seemed slightly cut off from the rest of the room. Despite the imperfections of the dining and seating arrangement, the food was rich and at a moderate price. I would suggest that the staff make more of an effort for peoples birthdays though. It was my partners birthday celebration and the waiter simply gave him a candle. Not much to the imagination there!
