Nice relaxed atmosphere and good pub food. I especially enjoyed the very dark meaty gravy on my pie, and had some very tasty "Dizzy blonde" beer. Our dog was welcomed and the staff were warm and helpful.

The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalAbsolutely Fantastic! We visited The Wheatsheaf whilst on holiday and we certainly wasn't disappointed. After going on a lovely walk with the family, we were able to book for a last minute meal. Not always the easiest with a young one and a big german shepherd. It was lovely and spacious, good portion yummy food and the service was second to none. We just wished we lived closer.
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalGreat country pub/inn. Friendly staff, made to feel welcome and the food was amazing. The battered fish and chips was one of the best I’ve tasted in a long time. The size of the fish was huge and it was cooked perfectly. We weren’t rushed and allowed to relax and enjoy our evening even after finishing our food. Highly recommend.
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalGood hearty pub food in a lovely country side very dog friendly pub in the pretty village of Brigsteers. As we were staying in the village it was nice to walk here. We had the fish and chips and the homity pie. Both were good and huge portions. Friendly waitress served us making us feel welcome.
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalA Lovely hidden country pub. Staff friendly, food lovely and plenty. Would recommend
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalVery friendly staff and accommodated our dog with an appreciated doggy treat. Food good and will return. Many thanks.
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalWe have eaten at this pub many times in the past as our friends live in the village. We have had many memorable meals but sadly this was memorable for all the wrong reasons. We eat on a Monday night - attracted by the offer of a third off the food - the pub wasn't particularly busy. No warm welcome from the staff - in fact no acknowledge as I was stood at the bar for a couple of minutes - we were then seated at our table with the promise that someone would be along shortly for our drinks order - that took 15 minutes for anyone to attend to us. We both ordered the rib eye steak - I ordered it as medium rare and was definitely medium leaning towards well-done. My wife ordered her as medium and was extremely well done. The chips on the whole were small and hard What disappointed me the most was the attitude of the bar staff - one in particular. I am not usually one to complain but when asked how our meal was and we explained - all he did was roll his eyes. Very disappointed in the whole experience - I am hoping it was very much a one off as usually we have had good quality food. Later in the week we eat at another pub down the valley and had a proper good meal
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalA lovely lunchtime meal and excellent service. The beef brisket was extremely good as was the Homity pie. Have visited on a regular basis over the last 15 years and will continue to do so.
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalLovely character country pub in really pretty tiny hamlet of Brigsteer. Sharing baked Camembert to was lovely & not too much, the beef brisket main was absolutely delicious. Great south Lakes location not far from Kendal.
The Wheatsheaf Inn – Kendalfood was excellent, great service and lovely Pub, we have eaten here many times over the years, my only complaint would be there was a small dog in the pub that was very noisy and the owners did nothing about it, there were a few tables with pets ,I don't have an issue with this, the rest of them were really well behaved, this one was very annoying!! did not spoil the meal, would recommend to anyone who has not visited.
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalPretty pub slightly off the beaten track. Very popular the evening we went. The food was lovely. The staff were too. Would recommend.
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalExcellent service with friendly communication from all staff.. Meals served fresh and hot in relaxed comfort. Good value.
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalThoroughly enjoyed the meal at the Wheatsheaf on an overnight stay. Very friendly staff and the food was great, with great beers and wines.
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalGreat little country pub. Great food, great service what more could you want !!!!
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalThe gentleman who served us was very pleasant but out of his depth. The waitress never smiled.. An essential if you are working in the restaurant business.. If you are serving 7 people with food surely at least two people could carry out plates at the same time to stop the first dishes arriving beginning to get cold. Gravy with Cumberland fairly ordinary. Much tastier at other pubs I have been to.
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalExcellent food, service and ambience !!
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalOur walking groups summer outing meal. Enjoyed by all everything first class thank you
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalWe visited as a family on Saturday. The food and service was absolutely amazing.
