The Viceroy – LeylandSuper tasty food. Friendly service. Perfect for rakeaway and nice to go to restaurant for special occasions. Highly recommend.
Beijing Restaurant – LeylandWent for evening meal, not many people there at all, even so the service was really slow. The food was nice but not a huge menu. Don't think I will be in a hurry to return, sorry.
Charnock Farm Restaurant – LeylandBest sausage barm EVER!!!!! Will definitely be back for more.
Leyland Market Cafe Noir – LeylandCan’t say enough about this place!Staff are welcoming, service fantastic. I felt like family! I had a TASTY omelette with a lovely side of bacon, generous portions couldn’t finish it all! Good cup of coffee too. The market setting just tops it off. Will definitely be back!
Leyland Market Cafe Noir – LeylandVisited with my daughter for Mothers Day late morning. I ordered the cream tea at £3.50. Mediocre scone seemed like a long life from a packet, squinty cream, the jam was great and coffee ok. Daughter happy with bagel though the salad was bland and tortilla chips tasted cheap despite costing £4.50. Said milkshake was fab. The restroom smelt very unpleasant. We won't be rushing back.
Choco Lotty – LeylandWe went to the Highfield for a Halloween party on friday with the kids. Over a 150 turned up, what a fab night well run by all the staff a credit to the manager. We also had a meal before hand and was great value for money. Will return.
Highfield The – LeylandAfter much work, a well distributed family was brought together for a 73rd birthday. We should have know how dire it was, as this was halloween, and the place was like a ghost town. My partner went one side of the divide, to proceed to place the order, which were all confirmed as main courses, not starters. The lady then repeated the desired menu back to her. Unbeknown to us, two of the desired main courses were put through as starters. This affected me as I ordered three different buckets of wings. I ended up with two paltry buckets of three wings per bucket. Which upon tasting did not have the desired zinge as advertised. When challenged the delivery person said that the rest were coming. We asked for a burger with salad , no cucumber and no dressing and no chips. But lo and behold a burger was delivered to the partygirl including guess what? Chips and a fully dressed salad, with cucumber. I will admit on my salad I did not stress strongly enough how allergic I was to cucumber. Mine turned up un dressed in a smaller bowl and to some one as sensitive to cucumber. I could smell it , as the same blade had been used to prepare the salad. I went in search of the manager only to see three member so f staff larking around. I proceeded to advise the manager of the situation but after listening to me, his stance was that his staff were correct and that we as the customer were mistaken. He then proceeded to bring the member of staff into the conversation. I requested to continue with him and that this was between him and I. He continued to bring the member of staff into the conversation. The base line to this manager, that despite having a sign up in full view if the members of public, saying that camera's were being installed as 25.00 is going missing from the till, his staff were right and the customer was wrong. Whilst we walked out of an empty establishment, snide comments could been uttered by the staff behind the bar. I would never recommend this establishment to anyone , not even my dog!!
Highfield The – LeylandVisited Choco Lotty on a bank holiday for lunch accompanied by the wife and two children. We ordered tea for two, rose infused lemonade. Both arrived promptly and were very nice .For lunch we ordered two soups and half a sandwich - £5:00 each. Cheese toastie and ham sandwich - each between £4:00 - £5:00. After 40 minutes a family at the next table cancelled their order die to the wait. My wife also asked how long it would be to be told it was being brought out now. 5 mins later the food arrived. I new the cafe was busy and expected to wait for good, carefully prepared dishes. I think its fair to say that everyones felt underwhelmed at what was placed infront of us.The soup was luke warm and very sweet. The half sandwich was two halves of dry shop bread with three skinny slices of cheese. The ham sandwich was dry and conservatively filled with sliced ham. The plate was garnished with 8 crisps and a pinch of wilting salad leaves that looked like they had been taken from a bag of ready salad. The toastie was dry which we were later told was due to margarine burning the toastie maker. Despite us all being famished not one of us was happy with the food so I requested a refund and explained my reasons. Unbelievably the experience fell even further into something that resembled Ramseys Kitchen Nightmares. The manager refused a refund on the grounds that a. He felt the food tasted great. B. they only use fresh high quality ingredients. C. The delay was the fault of too many customers and not theirs. D. A survey of 200 people had said their food was really good. E. He felt we were being spiteful. After sometime trying to explain the concept of customer service the manager said his final offer was to refund 50 of the cost. When i told him i would happily pay for the drinks i got a full refund for the food.So if you are in Worden Park and fancy a drink you should visit the cafe. If you're looking for a bite to eat you should steer clear.
