WOW. Everything about Chaophraya is spot on, from the atmosphere, decor, staff... and the food is simply fantastic, as is the service, price, menu, efficiency..... Simply a fantastic dining experience and well worth a visit, get yourself booked in!!!

La Besi definitely serves up some of the best italian food in Leeds... especially seen as they can deliver it straight to your door too! Always friendly and they will make anything to order! Their my favourite by far... i would (and i have) recommend them to anyone!!!!!!

I ate at the brasserie with family for a Birthday treat at lunch time on 14 March 2009 and we weren't at all impressed. The service was dreadful. Several times I had to leave the table to find staff to ask for things (more drinks/bill etc.) yet the restaurant was very quiet and there were plenty of staff. The starters and main courses were ok but nothing special but we ended up sending the desserts back. one of our party had the fruit crumble which was basically a dish of runny fruit sauce with a very few large lumps of some hard substance on the top masquerading as crumble! To add to the effect it had poured over the sides of the dish and looked very unattractive. My dessert was chocolate pudding which was basically a very dry piece of chocolate cake with some chocolate sauce on the top. To be fair, they knocked them off the bill but as we didnt actually eat them it was a token gesture. I actually had to go to the bar to ask for our bill and the girl who I asked gave me a very irritated expression! When the bill was brought to us the girl who brought it literally slapped it on the table as she walked past! We were left feeling that our comments on the desserts hadn't been well received! One of our party was very shocked by the overt rudeness but as it was a birthday none of us felt inclined to make an issue of it and further spoil the occasion. I can cook better myself and I dont appreciate such appalling service so I wont be going back and I am contemplating letting Mr Blanc know what a mediocre offering we got from his franchise in Leeds!

Tried to get in somewhere for Mothers day and was lucky enough to get a table at Blanc's and wasn't disappointed. Had the fixed menu which was very good value for money (£11 for 2 courses, £13.70 for 3 plus a glass of wine), even with paying the extra for a glass of champagne rather than wine. The beef roast was from a good joint and could taste the difference compared to similar priced restaurants. This was the third time I have been back to Blanc's and I am now sure it is my favourite place to eat in Leeds. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, the decor is tasteful and in keeping with the converted mill surroundings. The service is the best in Leeds. The staff although young, are extremely pleasant and friendly without being in your face. The wine list was impressive, based on a bottle of Malborough Sauvignon and a bottle of Sancerre, both highly recommended. I would recommend anything from the grill, and also the snails for starters if you can stomach the thought of eating them!!

Went as a party of 6 from work. We ordered 5 main dishes (Karahi Ghost x 2, Chicken Chilli Balti, Masala Fish, Chicken Ockra) and five starters (Liver Tikka x 3 and Seikh Kebabs x 2). As some of the party were asian, we asked for the dishes in the 'Apna' style which really spiced proceedings up. Cannot recommend highly enough. Woof woof.

We've been eating here for about 3 years and it never fails to satisfy! Great food including great Vegan/ Vegetarian choices all at a very reasonable price. A true little gem!

Myself and my Fiance have been to the Foundry a number of times and always enjoyed the excellent service and food. As we had family up for the weekend I thought it was a perfect time for them to enjoy the same. Although the food was still amazing the manager / owner was rushing us to take the order and came back five times. I realise that the restaurant has two sittings 7.15 & 9.15 but this ruined the evening and we were still done in time. Surely a restaurant of this class doesn't have to do this? Unfortunately the Foundry is getting complacent which is such a shame.

not the best restaurant i have to say. As someone who is well-travelled and have passion about food, this place is far from authentic. Its more like a Chinese takeaway than Japanese. On top of that there were too much MSG in the food (No MSG added written on the window- what a lie!), greasy and the tempura is heavily battered!!! Given that there is no much choice of Japanese eating place in Leeds, this probably considered appropriate. Should try Fuji Hiro, or British own Yo Sushi for better sushi. i'll probably wouldn't come here again by choice. If i do, probably because i am coming with colleagues or friends who hasn't got enough exposure about Japanese food. The only pros about this place is the extensive choice of the Japanese bottle beer which are rarity in Leeds and remind me of my days of backpacking in Japan. (minus the whisky tho- the only Japanese whisky that they have is the 'cheapest' version that you could find in Japan. Anyway, whoever is a virgin in Japanese Food and willing to try this restaurant, feel free!!! Judge it yourself!.

The service at Chaophraya is appalling if you go there late in the evening. My party of three rang early in the evening to check that it would be ok to arrive at 10pm (restaurant closes at 12am). We were assured that 10pm would be absolutely fine. We arrived at 10pm as planned and it was immediately obvious that the waitresses just wanted to get us out as soon as possible so they could go home probably. We were rushed into ordering. The wine menu was taken away without us even being asked if we wanted any. The starters appeared after literally 2 minutes and weren't very hot - freshly cooked? Don't think so. One waitress seemed to be extremely impatient and stood literally 2 metres away from our table and just stared at us the whole time we were eating. This made the whole experience really uncomfortable. The waitress then cleared the table and poured the remaing mineral water, spilling lots onto the table, she didn't even come back to clean up after herself. After that the bill was plonked onto the table. We were counting out the money and then the dish was immediately taken before we'd even finished putting all the money into it. Basically it was the most rushed meal I've ever had. This service is the worst I have ever experienced, anywhere on the planet, for any cost! Chaophraya is not cheap and the food isn't even that great either. Do yourself a favour and go to McDonalds instead - the food and service are better.

Loved the atmosphere in this restaurant - felt very relaxed and very authentic (although others may disagree with me on that). The crystal prawn dumplings and the chicken katsu bento box were delicious and very filling, so I couldn't manage anything heavier than lychee ice cream for dessert, but that was also excellent. Will definitely visit again!

BAD SERVICE....This was my favourite restaurant until Friday.....unfortunately they have taken to being greedy and having 2 sittings, at 7 and 9pm. I booked a birthday meal for 10 people for 7pm and we were asked to leave our table straight after our main course, with wine still to be drunk on the table, no desert, coffee etc....we were offered at table upstairs in the bar but had to wait in the corridor for 15 minutes until we left, disgruntled. No effort was made to recompense us for the inconvenience, even though we asked. You cannot expect a large party to get through a meal in 2 hours, it's just plain greed, even though we spent £300.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes good Italian cooking I would say the best Italian Restaurant in Leeds and so authentic, and you are made so welcome.

This place is incredible. We were there tonight and saw what seemed to be only three chefs manically running around the kitchen to deliver stunning food to a packed house. My girlfriend and I were welcomed warmly by the hostess and waitresses and treated to free warm bread; a nice touch. For starters the onion soup and mussels were absolutely delicious; rich and sweet, and fresh and fragrant respectively. Our mains of halibut and rabbit were out of this world, and came in huge portions! For dessert we ordered a stunning looking strawberry tart and a beautifully presented chocolate 'pot', which finished off the meal perfectly. We will be recommending this to everyone!

Not impressed. 1. Food not very tasty. 2. Very small amount of food (chicken balti - 10 pieces of "balti flavoured" chicken and nil else for £8.50). 3. Overpriced. 4. Poor service - and overcharged us - advertised 50% off starter and main course before 6.30pm which we confirmed with the staff on entering. When the bill was produced the wrong starter had been billed (at £7.95 instead of the one we ordered an ate at £3.95). This was corrected, and a new bill was produced, but with only a 30% discount - which we eventually after a long conversation (which included a debate on the terms and conditions of the 50% offer - which they quoted but then said they couldn't provide us with a copy of these terms and conditions) was increased to 50% off "just this once". So overall - advice to the managers of Shebab Express - 1. Don't advertise an offer, that you then decide not to honour after your customers have eaten. 2. Sort the quality and quantity of the food out - there are many other good restaurants in Leeds that seem capable of doing this - a small portion of food may save you money short term, but in the long term your customers will not return.

ate at red chilli on a busy Saturday night, party of 7, food and service were both excellent. Couldn't disagree more with reviews which suggest the staff are slow to respond, they were very attentive and efficient. The food was great - my only criticism is that the menu does not offer descriptions - so those less familiar with chinese cuisine aren't sure what they're getting - we had several dishes - some of which were what we expected, others were not! despite this they were all good, highly recommend the aramatic duck - my favourite dish, and the best ive had was here.

I went to slug and lettuce 13 Feb 09 for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The food was very tasty, I had fishcakes, you received two large ones, one with salmon and chilli the other with crab and prawn with a nice salad and reasonably priced. My friend had the sausage and mash, the other friend had chicken tostada and they all looked very nice, would recommend eating here.
