Probably the best curry house around Brough.

Emon Spice Lounge – Brough
Harry Johnson

Been recommended to go here by many friends so took the plunge on Sunday - wow, what a lovely place this is. Nicely done out and a lovely warm welcome from a female blonde Manageress as we entered. Was very full with a Christening, but the service was still fast (maybe too fast -= we had one of our meals in less than 5 minutes). Staff were very attentive but not pushy. Food was piping hot and tasted fresh too. Great gravy. Good range of wines and beers - the WOld Top was delicious. Puddings choice a bit limited and didn't seem home made us. We will definitely try it again. A top notch restaurant. .

We went to the Black Horse for Mothers Day Lunch. The cost was almost identical to a visit a week previously to a Michelin starred restaurant in North Yorkshire. The food and service however would not have disgraced a Fawlty Towers episode. We were brought bread rolls after 20 mins with the exclamation "brown or white - oh! the white ones are in the kitchen so it's brown. Gosh these are small today, who wants one!". We had to ask for the wine list. When the meals arrived it was evident that the gravy was out of a packet and the vegetables were tasteless. I had Lamb which could just as easily have been Beef. Those eating Beef were not given a choice of how they wished it cooked and it came very well done. To top it all my son was quite sick after the meal - thanks to the spicy prawn he had as a starter. When we mentioned to the owner that we were not happy with the meal his only response was "I haven't had any other complaints". If you are looking for 70's roadside food, served indifferently at top prices then this restaurant is for you. Otherwise steer clear

Visited The Black Horse Elleker yesterday for the first time. The food and service was excellent, well worth a visit. Will be visiting again.

They made us very welcome and provided high chairs and special Gluten Free meal for one of our family. Huge portions, very tasty food. We popped in for a snack and stayed over 2 hours. Definitely go back there - thanks for the recommendation

This is a very well run pub restaurant. Service is top here, food is maybe a bit above the usual pub fayre - but it isn't cheap.

Really good and quick service even though the place was quite busy when we visited. Personally I like the idea of no TV sport etc. Some of the dishes are expensive though, but probably worth it if you have the money! Roast was good.

Last time I went past this place it was closed down - what a difference. The service is very good for a pub, food is good as well even if a little expensive.

Great service but quite expensive and food was good but not as good, say, as the Altisidora near Beverley.

Fresh food and vegetables served nicely and hot , good quick service. Reasonably priced. Not usual plastic pub food.

Tried their Sunday lunch - huge portions, and quick service for fresh food. Liked the variety of background music here - very mixed. Wish i lived a bit closer to it. Bit hard to find though.

I thought it was fabulous! The chicken korma sauce was delicious and not too expensive, there was enough of it for me and my friend to share a portion and still have some left over. We had complimentary poppadoms and a variety of sauces. The dessert menu wasn't too fantastic but the chocolate ice-cream in the chocolate coating was delicious. I'd strongly recommend it.

Asham Indian – Brough

Fresh ingredients, good wide menu., Friendly and helpful staff and a huge car park. Plenty of tables outside and a secret beer garden at the back. Kids loved this place - nice cold beer too. No juke box though and no TV sports.

Triton Inn – Brough

Would go again!

Red Hawk – Brough
