I came to your restaurant yesterday for a meal with my family and disgusted with the service that we received. One of the women who we asked if the early bird menu was on said no, but the manner and in which she looked at us was very rude and ignorant. My partner and I both thought she was rude and we also felt that we were being rushed to finish our meal with the staff constantly looking at us as if to say finish your meal and get out. Also my 2 boys both had diarrhoea wh we got back and I have been sat on the toilet all day today, I was very disappointed with the service that we received. I can understand that yesterday was properly one of your busiest days but we still paid for it and expected a certain standard of service. Very disappointed with the standard of service. I will advise all my friends on social media to avoid your place because we expect a lot better.

Millbridge fisheries is the best fish shop that. I know if I had to rate it I would give it a 10/10.

Hi me an my girlfriend absolutely love blues fish bar, it's the best in town. You can't beat fish n chips with bits and a can of bitter shandy.

I saw this restaurant on Sugarvine and decided from their write up to visit with some friends. It was really very good, both service and food. We were made to feel very welcome and the quality of food was excellent. We will be back again and again, a great find.

My children and myself really love this restaurant, we have dine in and take home meals almost every month. It never disappoints me to see my children enjoying their Chinese meal treat! Friendly atmosphere.... a good meal out with friends and family alike! thank you for a memorable time for us.

Got there too early. 5:40p.m. asked to wait till 6:00p.m. glad we did! Early bird was fantastic. Excellent bread board with olives and sundried tomatoes while waiting for starters. Hot, fresh, very tasty food served by professional people, (maybe a few smiles wouldn't go amiss though). Booking advisable as there is no waiting area really. Definitely an eating pub, albeit a very nice one.

After lunching here a few years ago, I'd been looking for an opportunity to take my wife there. Her birthday on Saturday was the occasion. Overall impression? Definitely resting on its laurels. The gap between ordering, sitting down and receiving starters was about 10 mins. and then despite asking for a breather between courses, the main course was there within another 10 minutes - seriously we'd had 2 courses within 30 minutes. Now I don't know about you but on a Saturday night 8 pm booking, I'm not there to be rushed through my meal just so that the restaurant can squeeze some more covers in before 10 pm! The belly pork (one of their signature dishes) needed some more longer slower cooking and my wifes salmon was brought back so quickly after they'd accidentally coated in sauce that it was clear that these dishes are not freshly cooked to order but pre par cooked and then finished for speed. If I'd wanted fast food I'd have gone elsewhere. all in all a very rushed and slightly disappointed experience. Finally, my wife hit her head twice whilst going to the loo. Very low ceiling but no signs warning the unsuspecting customer. This place needs to sharpen up its act!

Following a recent visit I am most disappointed ordered coffees to go with our meal and the cream was solid with green mould on it, asked for some more and then the cream that was brought was out of date. Nobody seemed bothered and apology was all I got, the coffees were not even complimentary. There was 6 of us dining and a lot of money was spent.

I dined here for lunch with my father, sister and Aunt from new Zealand. We were doing a trip down memory lane of the area, as they grew up here. Though the pub has changed tremendously since my fathers day. The atmosphere and service was both friendly and professional. The quality of food was outstanding, I had Scallops which were exquisite and the Yorkshire Shepherds pie, with cuts of lamb which was outstanding in flavour. my family went the lunch menu, Beef stew which was excellent. The wine list has a good selection not overly priced. I would recommend this restaurant over most top restaurants, for its ambiance service and food.

We have visited the gray ox for years as a pub that is local to us and serves great food with a smile. however, this was not the case on our recent visit, the food has gone downhill in recent months, and the service or more the treatment we received was just appalling. The young girl left in charge since the owners stopped working just isn't up to the job, abrupt to the point of rude, the other staff made up for it and we enjoyed their chatty enthusiasm. Food has gone ott and specials distant from the pubby freshness we had previously enjoyed. a shame to say we won't be returning, as it was our favourite local restaurant. seems to have lost touch with the ethos somewhat.

we dined here on a surprisingly busy Monday evening and although in plenty of time for the early bird menu, we opted to dine from the main a la carte menu with the option of choosing from a specials board. i chose the fillet of beef which was outstanding! and something i would definitely opt for on our next visit! the wine list held a good selection of new world wines and i picked the Spanish rioja reserva reasonably priced at £20.95 which was recommended by the waiter. the staff here are great and an asset to the pub, polite, professional and with good knowledge of both the food and drinks. the gray ox is in an excellent location in the countryside and somewhere we will be visiting again in the not too distant future, - well recommended!
