Tried the two-course lunch menu for £12.50 and was very impressed; although the strawberry risotto was a little off the wall for my taste, the spatchcock chicken and the Pizza Fiorentina were delicious. Will be going back.
Bibis Italianissimo – Leeds City CentreWe tried the Fox & Hounds on a Saturday night about 5pm, to which when we walked in there were only a few persons in the bar area but plenty of tables, all of which had reserved sighs on. I then approached a young waitress to be greeted with "what" so asked her where we could sit with my wife and three children. I was then told in a very abrupt manner that all the tables were booked for 7pm, but I could have a table if I hurried with my meal. Quite taken back by this, I was then pointed to a table and told to "sit there". It was then I went to the bar where I ordered five drinks, to which I was told "these will be placed on your bill boss". On returning to my table I then had 2 menus thrown at me and told "id hurry up if I were you". Both my wife and I then looked at each other to which my 8 year old daughter commented “if we talked to you like that dad we would be in trouble". After reading the menu through I noticed there were no child meals, so asked the waitress if smaller portions were available to which I was told "no it would say if there were" to which the waitress then went to her college and began to loudly comment on the fact some customers got on her ....... Deciding that enough was enough and fearing my wife may harm the waitress if she continued with her attitude, I then went to the bar with the menus and explained we would no longer be eating, only to have my drinks bill thrust in my face and told to "leave my table and go into the outside area" where incidentally it was raining. Never again shall I visit this public house as it is the rudest service to date I have received in the Northallerton area, and can only assume the waitresses were trained by Vicky pollard.
Fox and Hounds – NorthallertonI have dined at Cowshed about 5 or 6 times over the last few years and have to say the food and service is excellent, I last went on my birthday on the 2nd July with a party of 10 and it was excellent, the food and atmosphere were super and the staff could not be more helpful. I would book in advance as the place is always busy, as for the pricing it is not somewhere I would dine all the time as its more expensive than some places but for the special occasion its spot on and clearly reflected in the quality of the food. Well done Cowshed we will be back :)
Cow Shed Restaurant and Grill – WakefieldWe booked two rooms for four nights plus a third room for one night. The visit was planned around our daughter's wedding in nearby Catterick Garrison and the Hotel was absolutely superb in every aspect. The only query we had was how this could only have a two star rating? We've stayed in countless four star rated hotels far inferior to The Frenchgate! Every aspect of the stay was superb, our room even had a 7ft wide bed with individual mattresses. This is likely to be very costly for me as 'the management' was so impressed with the bed - she wants one at home! Thanks a bunch, David! Joking apart, the whole atmosphere is wonderful - David even had the log fire roaring away in the communal lounge. A leisurely few minutes 'rest' out of the main hubub of bride and bride's mother was extremely welcome! Breakfast was enormous with mouth watering flavours - tomatoes that actually had a taste! Mushrooms the size of a baby parachute, bacon to die for - even I couldn't contemplate food until well into the afternoon! The pre wedding evening meal for ten set the tone for the following day festivities. We understand the next phase of investment involve extending out the rear of the property - to increase facilities for the recently obtained wedding licence. Despite travelling to Yorkshire many times on business, we have never seen anything of the area. In this instance, we were absolutely stunned by the whole experience. The beauty of Richmond and surrounding areas is breathtaking. We definitely intend using the Frenchgate as our base for more exploration and have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. Mehfil Indian Brasserie – Doncasteroh my gosh words cant explain how good the food is here, I just cant believe it! It is the best restaurant I have ever been to anywhere including abroad. Have you got Jamie Oliver hidden behind your kitchen doors? FABULOUS, REASONABLE PRICE AND WONDERFUL ATMOSPHERE! Quovadis eat your heart out!!
Prego Pizzeria – WakefieldAfter reading David White's account I had to go check this out for my self (being a big curry fan). Cant say I was that taken by the place. Food was OK but I've had much better from my local takeaway. Staff seemed a little to cock sure of themselves which was a bit uncomfortable at times.
Jinnah – FlaxtonFabulous little place. We had the 5 course meal for £26.50 and couldn't fault any of it. Highly recommended and very friendly owners too.
Zachary’s At Fulneck – PudseyAuthentic Gujarati vegetarian food, the best I have had in England. Especially delicious chapattis and wonderful srikand. The thali here is worth traveling a long way to eat. Small and informal with a very welcoming atmosphere. And there is an adjacent shop where you can buy delicious homemade snacks to take home.
Prashad – Bradfordi loved this place it was my 1st time going and it was lovely the staff was polite n the food i had was lovely i recommend CHICKEN KORMA it had a nice creamy texture.
Saffron Desi – MorleyWhen we were in Leeds recently we visited Hansa’s Restaurant. It was a Sunday lunch time and we were shown this long table laden with a variety of dishes, giving out an array of tempting aromas. We were told that it was an eat-as-much-you-like buffet. What a delicious choice of food was on offer! I sampled all the different items on the table. No two tasted the same. It was amazing to think that it was possible to conjure up such a wide range. Truly, Hansa has mastered the art of cooking. I shall certainly be back the next time we are in Leeds. If you have not been here before, then do come and you won’t be disappointed.

Admiral of the Humber, The – HullWe visited for the first time at the weekend following other excellent recommendations. We were not disappointed and loved the atmosphere, the service was exceptional and the decor was really lovely. The food was by far the best we have had for a very long time and even our gin and tonics were special. I would very much recommend this restaurant as the choice of dishes was spot on and the steak was perfect. The pudding was the best I have had in a while and I am not really a pudding fan. Can't wait to go back it is just lovely.

Admiral Duncan – Wakefieldi live in north wales and Prashad was recommended to me by my friends in bradford.i have been visiting prashad regularly for the past 2 years ,travelling 2 1/2 hours just for the excellent food served.,The prices are reasonable and of course the service is good.well worth a visit.you will be back for more.
Prashad – BradfordWe have been dining at Ashiqs for many years now. I'd like to think we are Indian Cuisine connoisseurs and rate Ashiq's as our favourite place to eat of all. The food, atmosphere, service and decor are first rate. There is a huge variety of dishes to choose from including 'Special sizzling dishes'. A buffet which is excellent value with a huge variety of choice catering for every taste. The proprietor, Ash to his customers is gregarious, warm and genuinely cares what his customers want and will always try to cater for their tastes by inventing dishes if you tell him what you like. The place buzzes with an electric atmosphere, especially on a weekend when it is wise to book. The ladies dress up which is nice, and Ash plays contemporary lively music. It's a BYO (bring your own booze), but you would never guess. The waitors will bring over a wine cooler and champagne glasses if required. There's no corkage charges. It's design is contemporary state of the art modern, and completely immaculate. If you love good food, good atmosphere and being treated like a princess by all the staff, go to Ashiqs in Dewsbury. One not to miss!!

Even our 20month old grandchild had a whale of a time!!!!! Close your eyes and you could have been in the real Italy. This was our first time there and we will definitely be going back. 10 out of 10.
