The food and service was excellent and even though the prices are on the high side, the quality of the food was outstanding, so value for money really. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, Their professionalism and friendliness was second to none.

The ambience is great with live music and views overlooking the ouse it is perfect for an evening dinner or Sunday brunch not to be missed if you are eating out in York.

Service is welcoming, helpful and polite, but above all genuine (how refreshing) and the food was outstanding. We left a comment that we were just sad there was not a branch in Manchester and the following day we got a helpful email to advise us that one will be along in June 2006. All round 5 stars for not just the food but for going the extra mile. If I ever win the lottery I will be hiring this place to have a very special do!! It's that lovely!
Chaophraya – Leeds City CentreI read about this place in the Times newspaper guide to the best Thai restaurants in the UK. The Times had selected this place as the Big Eat aka the best in the country. I had eaten at 2 others on the Times's list, one in Oxford and the other in Edinburgh. Both had been excellent experiences, so I was very keen to try somewhere that was meant to be even better, if that was possible. We booked a table for tonight (Tuesday), and all I am lost for words. Every dish that came to out table, was heavenly. so so good. The food really is amazing. We asked what the waitress recommended, she suggested X2,which was duck in a rich chilli sauce flavoured with sweet basil. This dish was amazing in flavour and can honestly say that I have never ever had better tasting Thai food anywhere. Just wish I lived a little closer, as I am near Liverpool, but will definitely come back again. Well worth the journey. The service is faultless and the heavenly food is gracefully served by smiling angels. Unbelievably good and way way cheaper than the other places I had eaten at mentioned in the article

Siam House – YorkWell it? taken me far too long to submit my review for here. I took my boyfriend back in September for his birthday here. Wow. We were greeted by the most friendly of staff, drank at our leisure outside on the veranda in the wonderful setting. Our meal was perfect, very relaxed, beautiful huge king prawns and scrumptious other food. All washed down with a beautiful bottle of wine. I had mentioned that it was my partners birthday when I rang to book the table. They said they'd make it an evening to remember. Boy did they do that. After our main course, we sat enjoying our wine when we heard a big "gong" I completely forgot that I'd told them it was my partners birthday and assumed that this was what happened when people ordered the set meal for 8 or something. Anyway, 8 people arrived with little instruments singing "Happy Birthday", and a banana fritter and ice-cream for us to share. Needless to say that evening is one of our fondest memories and we are looking to return there in May for our anniversary.

We can meet friends in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere without any pressure to eat up and go. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Later on, getting a lunch table can be something of a struggle in the small arcade cafe, but it's testament to the good food, good service and busy but friendly vibe on offer. Well worth a visit.

This small cafe and deli is a real treat. from coffee and a proper slice of toast cut off a proper loaf with real butter and blackcurrant jam to die for, to hot sandwiches, garden fresh salads including roast beef, tuna olive and red onion, poached salmon and prawns through to home made lasagne, Italian meat balls beef in ale it is highly recommended. The deli counter is a joy to behold, and with nice chilled wines and everything so reasonably priced, you really can? go wrong here. On the main street in Lindley. Park right outside. Excellent.
