Service was poor, food was good but not excellent
Hansa’s Cookery School – Leeds City CentreMe & my Dad went to kebabeesh yesterday, and found it to be modern, snappy and served good food. We started with popadoms, and our only gripe here was that the sauces were, although plentiful, not very different. Although the mint one was good! (sorry i dont know the correct name!) Then, we had prawn tika and sheek kebabs for starters. The prawn tika was the best dish we had that evening! We only got 5 prawns (but what can you expect at a low price?) but they were really tasty! the sheek kebabs were good too, but not so much of a surprise. Then we moved on to the main course... Kebabeesh have an excellent range of naan breads! We chose Spicy potato & coriander naan, wich was absolutely incredible! We also had Green chilli & coriander naan, but that wasn't as good as the 1st, and we would recommend you try a more interessting naan bread, as the more interesting one for us was the better one! The currys we had were Chicken Madras and Lamb and ginger balti. The ginger really complemented the lamb and the chicken was nicely spiced. We asked for both of these to be "hot", and found this to be a mistake! Especially with the two spicy naans. We also had daal wich was good... We chose to have dessert, which was fine to cool off with... i had a honey pot, and dad had a pistachio ice cream thingy, both were nice and cooled the mouth off. Dad had a Cobra, and i drank water. The total bill was just over £30, wich, is very comparable to nawaab, and other well known curry houses. ~The service was quick and friendly, almost too much in fact! anyways, this is a curry house that we will be revisiting with the whole family next time... And they have such an extensive recipie, they even do non-spicy dishes! The recipie on their website is very accurate... **HIGHLY RECOMENDED**
Kebabeesh – BradfordThe food was lovely, however it was such a shame the waitresses are so rude. When mentioned this to the management the manageress reflected the attitude of the waitresses I wont be going to this outlet again I would rather drive further & get a better service as this totally ruined my evening.
Frankie and Bennys – Leeds City CentreFantastic !! If I could afford it I would live here !!!
Woodlands Hotel – MorleyExcellent restaurant. My partner and me eat there regularly having the set meal for 2. Staff are always very welcoming especially the man on the door! Definitely recommend it to anyone!
Royal Eastern – BradfordWe have been many times the food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. I would recommend it!
Ruchee – Chapel AllertonVisited on a rather bizarre recommendation. Saw an original Tuk Tuk driving round Leeds, the very friendly driver told me it was owned by this restaurant and highly recommended the place!! How right he was, great place, fantastic food. To the mad Tuk Tuk driver.. Thanks, thoroughly enjoyed it.
Chaophraya – Leeds City CentreBoth the food and service lived up to expectations
Banana Leaf – MiddlesbroughTruly wonderful restaurant. The specials are delightful, would recommend either the Rump Steak Salad or the Vegetable pasty, both are rather good. Selection of beers is one of the finest in Leeds and the knowledge of product is also top notch. Try and visit on a Sunday as its games day where they have most popular board games for you to play.
Reliance Bar and Dining Room – Leeds City CentreTalk about a time warp! If you fancy stepping back to the 70's this place is for you. Don't get me wrong, the food is good but the menu just feels massively dated. Don't come here expecting gastro-fusion. If you want prawn cocktail, steak and trifle you've found your joint!
The Bon – GarforthBeen here a few times, always very cheap (two starters and two mains £12!!) service very good. Only complaint is that is can be a little oily, otherwise cant be beaten, especially on price!! Recommended.
Jinos Thai Cafe – HeadingleyAlthough on the expensive side this place ranks amongst the best Indian Restaurants I have eaten at. There is also a private glass room available for party bookings, which is a great idea. Very modern ambience, extensive menu and great wine list with some of my French favourites such as Louis Jadot. Highly recommended for the discerning restaurant goer !!
Aagrah Restaurant – Leeds City Centreit was one of the best meals i have ever had.
Dutch Pot – Chapel AllertonI have been eating at Nando's for at least 10 years so its fantastic that they finally decided to open some Nando's restaurants in the UK. If you hate chicken, after your visit to Nando's you will be eating chicken daily. Its a very "free" atmosphere, with HUGE portions for your meal. you can easily feed 2 people for just £14.99, full chicken, chips / salad /rice/ corn .. the works. When you get drinks & ice cream/frozen yoghurt, you only have to pay once and you can refill as many times. The menu is not limited to just chicken, but thats their speciality. Go there , and try it out.
Nando’s – Leeds City CentreIn a party of 24 we had a fabulous evening. The food was excellent with a very good choice of speciality fish dishes and inexpensive wines. Would recommend to any one wanting traditional Italian fare at very good value for money!!
Kobe – HorsforthOne of the best Indian restaurants I've visited. A beautiful interior, good quality food and service that was much better and faster than your average place. Will definitely go again.
Aagrah Restaurant – GarforthThe food at this place really is fantastic - a great place to pop in for a quick bit to eat, or BYO and enjoy an evening. The Thai staff are very friendly and the bill at the end of the meal is always surprisingly low. I'm a regular visitor and would highly recommend it.
Jinos Thai Cafe – HeadingleyGave this place a visit after reading reviews on another website raving about the food and 'The Singer.' Food lived up to the reputation, can't comment on the singer as unfortunately, he wasn't there. Will have to rate it same as Sukhothai food wise, maybe the 'singer' would have given it the edge..?
