Absolutely beautiful restaurant in all ways. Food was fabulous, beautifully presented, meticulous in the way the staff treated us and I was so impressed with the exhibits and the appearance of the place. The waiter showed us to the private areas downstairs and I was impressed with the lovely little private dining areas and the 300 year vintage door! What then was a wonderful night unfolded further into an even better one when the waiter shared that the restaurant is a break even charity organisation, so all profits go to charity (specifically, I was told, to an orphanage). This restaurant gets 5 stars from me, very graceful, warm and excellent food! I would say the best sit down Lebanese meal ever! Thank you very much.

Assaha Restaurant – Bayswater and Paddington

Assaha, which roughly translates from Arabic as 'village meeting place', is a high-concept venue with branches across the Arab world. This particular branch is a small restaurant in Paddington, most easily spotted by the Lebanese flag outside and the smell of customers' hookah pipes wafting from the verandah. Inside it's filled with enough bunches of garlic, stone carvings and other rustic nick-nacks to fill a souk. The menu covers the usual Lebanese signature dishes, plus some more unusual options. The star among these was frakeh - hand-rolled raw, finely ground meat mixed with bulghur wheat, formed in the shape left inside a closed hand ('frakeh' translates as 'to grasp' or 'to grip'). You eat these, seasoned with dried spices, fresh mint leaves and a dash of oil, folded inside some warm flatbread.Other dishes didn't live up to the promise of the first meze dish. A green leaf vegetable called 'hindbeh' in Arabic (translated as 'chicory' on this menu; 'dandelion' in many others) should be served room temperature, but ours was fridge-cold, which deadens the flavours. A small meat-filled pie (sambousek) had tough pastry that was slightly burned on the underside. No alcohol is served, but the soft drink called jellab is a refreshing mix of rosewater flavours, topped with shelled pistachio nuts floating on top.The service was well-meaning, but slightly patronising. When we asked for the bill, we were treated to (unwanted) complimentary desserts - taster-sized dishes of mougli (cinnamon- and caraway- flavoured rice pudding) and mouhallabia (milk and ground rice pudding). We had to nag them again for the bill so we could leave. Assaha Village needs to sharpen up its act if it hopes to compete with the likes of London's Noura or Maroush chains, to name just two of our home-grown talents.

Whilst the food was good, having to call the police because the staff at this restaurant were unlawfully detaining us after refusing to honour the my restaurant card discount was completely unacceptable. I would recommend that no one even contemplated for a second visiting this truly awful establishment. I do not expect to be rudely yelled at and my possessions snatched away, whilst being threatened if we attempted to leave.

This was my ever first visit to a Persian cousin since I have heard alot about from my Irani friends....luckily I ended up dining at the Ariana Restaurant, it was an forgettable night, you cant call this place only a restaurant to dine, it has everything to make you enjoy your visit, live music belly dance drink sheesha excellent service delicious food perfect interior nice and friendly staff, we were the among the first to enter and almost the last table to leave, still we were very warmly treated by the management.....I am really grateful to the restaurant management and the atmosphere it provides to their customers...STRONGLY RECOMMENDED - GREAT VALUE FOR AMOUNT YOU PAY - LOVE YOU ARIANA.....

I have been to many restaurants on Edgware Road and can honestly say this is the worst I have been by far. Firstly, the service was terrible, after waiting an hour for our food the waiter got our order completely wrong. We complained to the manager and he refused to believe the waiter got the order wrong and so we ended up overpaying by £75. In addition to that the restaurant was filthy, the decor was cheap and everything just looked very tacky, the toilets were so disgusting that we preferred to use the McDonalds ones across the road. I would hate to think what the kitchen must be like! There are plenty of options on Edgware Road so strongly advise avoiding this one.

I have eaten at Ariana three times over the last 18 months, and every time the service has been superb, and so has the food and entertainment. The dishes are a mix of Persian (Iranian) and Afghan, so some Iranians may well not recognize all of them. Without exception all of the food we have had there has been excellent though, both varied, and consistent across multiple visits, all of the starters seem to be good, with the aubergine dishes and olivio salad recommended, and the main course chello kebabs are superb, with chicken kebabs being a good alternative, or the Afghan meal with raisins and nuts in the rice over a lamb shank is very good too. Last Saturday the belly dancer wasn't the girl who was on Britain's Got Talent semi-finals, as before, but the dancer they had was still excellent. I'm English and married to an Iranian, and both sides of our family have loved it there, both my mother and father got up to dance during the evening last week. They said it was like being on holiday, with the Iranian singing, not that actually going to Iran is a recommended holiday nowadays. Don't be put off by the location or the TVs on the walls, it's well worth a visit. And excellent value also.

Stumbled across this Indian restaurant which has been open since 1977! So it must be doing something right! I assume its a Muslim venue as no alcohol is served. The food is extremely authentic. My chicken Jalfezi was unlike any other I have ever tasted and i have had quite a few. The place was full of Asian families which said it all really. Well worth a visit.

this is as good as it gets for Dim Sum be prepared to get a ticket and wait might be half an hour for a table , the fact that its window less made it quite claustrophobic for me , I preferred the Docklands one BUT the food isn't as good Turnip paste patty to die for and the crispy noodles with sea food the best in LONDON Well Done

I was rather impressed by the ordering system at Ping Pong, whereby one is given enough time to peruse the menu and then select their dishes by ticking the boxes. The food was piping hot, and as a big fan of Chinese,I found that the dim sum served here was as nice as any I have tried recently at other restaurants. Not bad at all.

What is the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of the best Indian restaurant, situated seconds away from Hyde Park, offering a delicious and vast typical Indian cuisine, accompanied by a friendly and outstanding customer service, and for an affordable price? Answer: Curry Palace. There I always take SAAG PANEER, amazing dish made from spinach and cottage cheese(they have a long list of other vegetarian dishes...), for which they are the undisputed Masters. Also the Chef's Specials (Butter Chicken, Chicken Masala, Lamb Pasanda...), the Tandoori marinated dishes, Karahi dishes, Rices, Naan Breads and starters are simply extraordinary. Whatever you've ordered, you made the right decision. Besides the restaurant then, they have a Shisha corner. They also do Home delivery, and they are quite speedy, which is great during the week if you feel too tired from a long day of work. Try it, and you will start going there regularly...
