What a fab place this is! I went for the first time tonight after Carousel and its like a little gem tucked away in the tiny alleyway by the Coliseum, full of Dickensian rooms with beautiful dining tables and shelves of books and lots and lots of cognoscenti, serious people, radio 4 types and A list actors in evidence tucking into kind of smart comfort food and pisco sours. Its got a great atmosphere which is hard to describe but you just feel it right away, it is the opposite of corporate and very friendly and welcoming with everyone respecting each other and not staring at people, and the staff will never let you feel uncomfortable or second rate and they are as mad as a box of frogs! I can't wait to go again, its a really special place, the kind that makes memories.

Amazing Japanese Italian restaurant. The fusion touch is subtle and inventive. We have been nicely surprised by this restaurant, everything is fresh with great flavors. We highly recommend the sea bream crudo, sea bream sashimi with Italian basic ingredients but so good ! Aiko, we will definitely be back !

This is such a gem of a watering hole in central London that I feel I should keep it to myself but, vraiment, c'est le meilleur bar au centre de Londres ..... impeccable!

Much larger than it looks from the street, beautifully decorated and very impressive service. I tried the grilled dumplings and the sweet and sour chicken, and both were delicious. Will be back.

Excellently presented, delicious food served in fabulous surroundings. I had the 3 course 'County of the Month' menu (which in June was Cornwall) and loved every course. The duck to start was full of flavour, the loin of veal for my main course was cooked to perfection and the egg custard dessert was just stunning - a great end to a fantastic experience. I would highly recommend the National Dining Rooms - superb location overlooking Trafalgar Square, attentive and knowledgeable staff and excellent food. I will definitely be returning.

Salvador & Amanda (as in Dali & his muse Amanda Lear) aims to bring a touch of ‘the real Spain’ to town. Unfortunately, it’s more Costa del Sol than Real Madrid, the gothic surroundings looking shabby after heavy wear & tear & the cocktails unevenly executed. Better to stick to sangria pitchers at £13 (or £18 for a deluxe Cava version), beers such as trusty San Miguel & the concise wine list that includes a 2001 Ochoa Tempranillo as house Rioja. Decently-done tapas provide sustenance for it all: pan-seared oysters with button mushrooms in garlic, sea bass served with chorizo potatoes, tuna carpaccio & tortilla are all present & correct. Seriously, who doesn't love tapas? They're so delicious and convenient, what's not to love? And nobody makes yummy, robust, bite-sized specialities quite like the Spanish. Tasty, convenient and oh-so-fun tapas is as much a culture as a cuisine. Whether for two or the whole gang, tapas always, ALWAYS goes down well. On that note, we introduce Salvador and Amanda: London’s hottest tapas restaurant and bar. Located in the heart of theatre-land, it is the number one venue for drinking, dancing and tasty tid-bits. In addition, this lively venue have just introduced ‘Mix-it-Mondays’ (starting on the 7th July). This is a whole new twist on traditional dating. Every Monday night up to 4 couples can participate in the master class and learn how to mix a mojito like a master, or become a connoisseur of the ciapriniahs! Couples will watch talented mixologists demonstrate how to make the cocktails to perfection before getting behind the bar themselves and attempting to re-create their preference! Booking slots are 7pm, 8pm and 9pm each Monday. At £10 per head for a 30 minutes session, booking in advan ce is essential as these session fill up fast! You will make three cocktails each (great for a tenna). So if you’re struggling for ideas for an impressive date, this is perfect for breaking the ice or, as this is available for up to 8 people, for a small hen night party. Further, couples gets 10% off their food bill should the date go well and they want to eat at the tapas bar after their mixology sesh. How can you argue with that?

on the evening of 28 april 2008 my friend and i dined at the restaurant and ordered just 3 starters as we did not have time because we were going to the theatre. the food arrived but the bruschetta was not quite right served as the menu described. i informed the waiter, he replied to me saying that it was the first time a customer complained about it and told me that if i did not want the bruschetta he would change for me, as we did not want to wait any longer, we would eat it anyway. the bill was brought to us by a italian waiter who kept telling us that "after a busy weekend he did not need our complaint and moaning" my friend and i were very upset and we said that we will never come back to the restaurant again, the waiter replied saying that they can do without us customers. i asked to speak the manager but it was denied. i will pass on to all my friends this experience and make sure they dont go to this restaurant.

We went into Yates's twice while in London and used Tesco Clubcard Deal Vouchers. The first time we had a meal which considering most of the meals are probably microwaved or reheated the food was really nice and we didn't have to wait long either. On our second visit we were on our way back to Euston before leaving so popped in for breakfast. The breakfasts were huge and the staff told us how to get the best deal. They even allowed us to pay for drinks with our vouchers (when they should just cover the food). We went in the afternoon the first time and morning the second time and had great service. It gets very busy after 5pm and in the evenings you have to queue to get in so if you want to eat there then you'll probably have to wait longer. We would definitely go here again to eat as it is good value for money.

I've been eating at Food for Thought, Covent Garden for over twenty years, and I could happily eat there every day if I could! Though small and sometimes a bit cramped, the food is excellent - always fresh, always new menus. This is the only restaurant where I have always totally enjoyed whatever I've eaten. It is by far the most imaginative vegetarian restaurant I've been to. I'm so happy they've never changed their basic format, queue up down the narrow stairs, and get a table after you?e gotten your food - because it's still so reasonably priced, affordable, and nourishing. I could eat their stir fry veg and rice every day, though I am also tempted by the delicious quiches, not to mention the various specials of the day. I hope I will still be eating there when I'm old!

A very lively and seemingly popular place to dine. Food was excellent along with the service. Might be best to book a table as early evening is very busy but you can always have a margarita at the bar while you wait for a table!
