Just off Trafalgar Square opposite Cgaring Cross station it is in a great spot. Great pizzas and service. Was still hungry and ordered the meatballs. Pizza Express are great for Pizzas, meatballs....think not. The waiter was good enough to take them off my bill.

This is one of the new funky venues. I thought I would use the new Pizza Express App to pay. Great idea and great App. Really sweet girl served us and we enjoyed our Pizza's.

Really friendly staff in a busy pub on Strand opposite the Adelphi Theatre. Good prices. Would recommend to anyone.

AVOID! We arrived on a Saturday for a 6pm, pre-theatre reservation to find the place was being decorated (read - painted) for xmas. The gentlemen sitting next to us was startled to find paint all over his hand (thought it was blood at first). My wife and I surveyed ourselves and thought we were lucky. The adjacent table also found paint on their hands. In the light of day the next morning i found that we had not escaped unscathed - i had some red paint on my jacket. I called the restaurant to ask for them to cover my dry cleaning bill - cleaners obviously won't gaurantee results with paint, but I wasn't pushing for him to replace my suit! I asked for the Manager. He was quite RUDE and LIED by saying the painting was done earlier in the week. From his response I do not think that I was his first complaint call of the day! Don't take a chance when there are so many great pre-theatre options in the Strand area!

Salieri – Strand

I was unsure about going to Salieri as I had booked over the internet and had read mixed reviews. However this restaurant is very charming, the decor is extravagant based on the theme of theatre and quite impressive - plenty to look at! Also, the background music was all theatrical classical music, some opera and some classical which was very relaxing and a welcome change. I found the waiters were very attentive, they made the occasion very pleasant with their humour and service. Also, the price we paid for the standard of food was exceptional! We had two courses for 9.95, of which were well presented and very tasty and the desserts were not overpriced which meant we could sneak in an extra course and barely notice on the bill. This was an all round enjoyable afternoon lunch, my mother, sister and I left feeling very content! I highly recommend it.

Found this restaurant to be excellent value for money with exceptional choice of food which was beautifully presented. The service was fantastic and the waiters very attentive and good humoured. The cost of the lunch menu was 2 courses for £8.95 and 3 courses for £9.95. Returned with friends for a "girls reunion lunch" and the waiters were even more attentive!!! I can highly recommend this restaurant.

We had an excellent meal here in May 2007 before going over to the Adelphi. The Pie Restaurant caught our eyes and our noses! There was plenty of choice and at reasonable prices, around £7-9. The only negative was the service. The place was full and there were only 2 girls waitressing AND serving at the bar! The bar was covered in dirty glasses that had been collected, we queued for ages to put our order in and couldn't get their attention during the meal at all. Despite this the food came quickly and was delicious. We would go again although I hope the manager employs more staff to cover a busy bank holiday saturday night!

Simpsons In The Strand

A must for the visitor to London. This is British true British cooking where carved roast beef is done tableside. You must try the pudding sampler. A bit stuffy and pretentious, but isn't that what Olde England is all about.

Great pub, fantastically labyrinthian place, good beer and a cellar for food which is an experience.

Since my last visit that went pretty poorly in most respects Smollensky's on the Strand did something that most bars wouldn't, namely invite me back to discuss the events of that fateful evening! Some praise must go to Smollensky's on the Strand for a quite unexpected invite to return and talk with a senior member of staff about what happened that night, all this whilst enjoying complimentary food and drink. A warm reception was afforded to us and since that meeting the bar menu has been reviewed to take into consideration our comments on the value for money of many of the choices on offer and questions asked about the very poor level of service we received. This has gone some way to make up for the bad experience of my last visit but the odd question still remains, why the design of the stage if not to have live acts perform on it? Aside from this Smollensky's on the Strand has always been a top venue with stylish decor and the restaurant has always been good value for money and most importantly great food. Definitely give Smollensky's a try it's one of few central London venues we return to, and post a review, it's worth the effort!

This was just as we expected. We ate on a Saturday lunch, at which they provide a good value 3 courses for £25. The food was really quite good and the service was excellent. There was a choice of 6 starters and 6 main courses, with 6 desserts and cheese and biscuits to follow. Although the food is good value, the drink is expensive, this is where you will spend money. Would definitely recommend it.
