Excellent restaurant ! Great food served by happy team of people -- intimate and quite a find really -- don't miss the Moroccan Mint Tea after your meal :-) Bring own alcohol and enjoy fab lamb, chicken or fish / seafood dishes served as a Tagine dish or a typical Moroccan meal with taste in abundance !

First trip to the Diwan last week and what a great experience! Best ever poppadoms (although the sauces were so-so) tasty starters and the main courses were well-spiced with great quality meat and very generous. Very friendly and attentive waiters, some of the best service we've had. And the price...£8 each for the lot. Highly recommended. NB Unlicensed. Which is fine by me

For the average punter the restaurant is more than adequate however the more experience Indian food lover the food was rather bland, the naan bread were burnt, the chutneys were watery and flavourless.

Excellent restaurant very good food and a lot to choose from at a very reasonable price. Would recommend that you don't eat during the day before you go as the portions are very hearty!

Best fish and chip shop in Birmingham and probably the universe.. although Poulton Square chip shop next to the New Inn in Morecambe takes some beating. Fantastic batter - would compete with any tempura bar in Tokyo - and brilliantly white cod. Suspect that the chips are fried in beef dripping, no problem for me but veggies beware. Mushie peas and a pot of tea complete the set. Rick Stein would give it a big thumbs up.

Nayim, if that is how the owner's name is spelled, is the consummate proprietor, servicing aesthetic as well as more basic needs. He balances his impressive intellect and love of jazz with the requisites of providing a fine meal to be enjoyed by all. He serves tandoori lamb as a starter, and it is most unusual, and tasty. His curries are Birmingham-influenced including the Bashi bowels. The clientele revels in the informality and deliciousness. I visited from Las Vegas, Nevada, and dined at K2 three of the five days I was in Birmingham, and rushed there on my last day before returning to America for one last, great, taste. Keep up the fabulous work, Nayim. Ever, your greatest eating fan: Dr. Tom otherwise known as the Dr. of Love.

My wife and I go here at least once a week (sometimes more) and Sam makes us feel at home and part of the family. The food is excellent, as is the service and I would recommend it to anyone who likes good Cantonese cooking at its best. Bring your own wine or beer.

This restaurant must rank along side the best in Birmingham. It offers a wide variety of choice, the food is cooked to perfection, there is plenty of choice and it tastes delicious. If a restaurant is fully booked mid week that should tell you how popular it is. I recommend a visit and then take your friends over and over again!

A curry house with a twist - excellent non traditional decor combined with top notch food and excellent and attentive service. Highly recommended for that slightly different Indian experience in a convenient location at an affordable price.

The meal my wife & I had was the second time we had been to this very nice eating place. It was on recommendation of a friend of mine. We looked at the web site and found the menu was extensive so had to go! We also submitted our celebration dates. This was our Birthdays as asked by the email sent to us by the owner of the restaurant and hey, we got an invite to celebrate my Birthday. We took this up and although we had been on holiday, Mike Sharman extended the week allowed for this celebration meal and drink for a further week! Well if that is not good I don't not what is. So we went along and they made us very welcome. A cocktail with a very nice meal was offered to me and we paid for the other meal. Well one free one is very good in my books. The food is excellent and we could not fault it. We will of course be going back and taking our friends also to show them good Tapas.

I love The Jade, it is one of my favourite restaurants and I have been going there for years! They are fast, very generous with portions and the meals are a really good price! The staff are very nice and I would recommend it to anyone.

Stumble by this wonderful little restaurant and was lucky to get a table, early on a Saturday evening. (Would definitely recommend booking). Staff were welcoming, friendly (without being overpowering) and knowledgeable. The food was out of this world. Two each of beers, soft drinks, main course and a shared dessert came to a total of £30. Pretty good value!

The ambience of this little restaurant was wonderful. The staff a delight without being overpowering and the food wonderful! The magnificence of my main was an absolute picture! A large plate of King Prawns, scallops, squid, Langoustines ,mussels & monkfish proved to be a seafood paradise!

The menu has been somewhat reduced although refined. We are moseleites and look forward to a local night here at weekends. We managed to order some specials from the previous menu. This place has a romantic flair and a bustling convivial atmosphere. I wish there was more food in the downstairs bar during weekends.

We managed to reserve a table online for a midweek dinner. It is arguably the most romantic restaurant around with a seamless blend of fine casual dining albeit pricey. The Tapas seemed like a fusion of Spanish & Italian to us. La Plancha seems to pride itself in being "the hardest table to book in the city" - Not surprisingly!

Very friendly people who know about fish. And chips and mushy peas too. Pedro is very welcoming He cares about what he's doing and all this combines to make his chippy the best I've found. Worth a detour.
