Nicely refurbished with lovely conservatory, restaurant and open and covered outdoor seating. Great ambiance. Food was lovely and served quickly, drinks a little slow. Will be popping back in.

The Royal Oak – NantwichGreat to have the local pub up and running after such a long time. The food was excellent, and prompt, friendly service. Good value. An asset to the village.
The Royal Oak – NantwichWe didn’t have a great experience I’m afraid. It was a hot day so the doors had been left open however this resulted in the restaurant being full of flies which wasn’t very pleasant. The food was ok but around half of the chips were almost black and shouldn’t have been served. None of the staff asked if the food was or or whether we had enjoyed the meal so we just paid the bill and left. I don’t think we will visit this restaurant again.
The Royal Oak – NantwichOur first visit to the Royal Oak since its renovation....which has been done to a very high standard. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the food and service...there is obviously a major problem with the kitchen....we waited over an hour for our main course...someone also complained they were waiting for an hour and a half !! Another couple simply got up and walked out without even paying !! As for the food when it eventually arrived...4 out of 10....we will not be going back.
The Royal Oak – NantwichI'm afraid to say we were hugely disappointed with our visit to the Royal Oak. We were looking forward to our visit and had booked for 6.30pm on Saturday night. It was fairly busy but the service was dreadful, we waited 40 mins for our starter and were ready to leave just before our main course arrived after waiting another 40 mins, no one was even in a hurry to take the starter plates. The food when it came was not great, the pie was very disappointing and the chips were dreadful. Very disappointing visit I'm afraid to say.
The Royal Oak – NantwichVery good food & service was ok the WiFi went down & had to stand at the bar for 20 minutes waiting for someone to tell me what was going on until the manager sorted our bill. The Sunday menu was very limited for options but what we had was very nice.
The Royal Oak – NantwichFirst time to eat since the refurbishment and booking on the website was easy however didn't receive an email as confirmation so wasn't sure I'd been successful until I telephoned to check. It was a Sunday service so the menu reflected that, couple more choices for those not wishing for a roast perhaps but absolutely no complaints.
The Royal Oak – NantwichSecond visit of the week to the Royal Oak, arrived on Saturday lunchtime for 13:30 table booking but the ordering process failed. After 20 minutes I had to go and find the waiter to order the food and drinks. Once ordered the food arrived in good time and was excellent.
The Royal Oak – NantwichSuper food, service and ambiance
The Royal Oak – NantwichExcellent food and service at sensible prices
The Royal Oak – NantwichFirst time back at the Royal Oak since it’s refurbishment. Booking a table via the website was easy. Warm and friendly greeting from the staff upon arrival. Food was very good . Definitely will return soon
The Royal Oak – NantwichFirst visit after some friends recommended to try. Newly refurbished and very tastfully decorated. Couldn't give a great rating for atmosphere because we booked for 6pm on a Wednesday, so not many people there at that time. Really enjoyed the meal and very reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again.
The Royal Oak – Nantwichdelicious food and a very clean and well-kept place and the service was very nice. We were very pleased and we will definitely come back there more than once.
The Royal Oak – NantwichWent for a mix week visit as a table of 5. The food and the service was very good. The staff where very friendly and most on the night came to the table. The menu was good value and we will definitely be back.
The Royal Oak – NantwichThe food was excellent. Service was really good, considering how busy they were. (Not surprising due to how good the food was.) I very much recommend this place. Once you've been, you'll keep coming back.
The Royal Oak – NantwichWe visited The Royal Oak on Sunday 3rd July and were very pleased that it was a Sunday Roast on the menu as we didn't see this on the website. They were a little slow in taking the orders (only to be expected as new staff finding their way around) but it was definitely worth the wait. We booked our table for 2pm and everything on the menu was available. We had the prawn cocktail and short rib bon bons for starters and roast beef to follow. Everything was cooked to perfection! Roast beef was delicious and tender and the veggies cooked perfectly and not swimming in butter! We will definitely be visiting again in the very near future. Well done to all the team, you made our first visit a welcoming one!
The Royal Oak – NantwichSunday lunch 3rd July Attended the pub on the above date and found the experience quite mixed. When we arrived we were told that half of the starter menu was no longer available (however an alternative was offered). Service was quite slow and had to wait over half an hour for the main course after the starter. However, the biggest issue was the fact that the regular menu (found on your website) was not available on a Sunday. This would’ve been ok had this been advertised on your website and to make it clear that there is a set menu on a Sunday. Also, if you are willing to offer the vegan burger option as an alternative to the Sunday roast, then please can you cater for people who are not vegans and wish to be offered the choice of a regular burger please? I also noticed on your website menu that you offer a vegan lasagne and vegan cottage pie, but no traditional lasagne or cottage pie? It is obviously a very good move to cater for vegan customers to which no sensible person would have an issue with, including myself, but not everyone in today’s world is vegan, or wants to eat vegan food, so surely it isn’t too much to ask to offer the traditional non-vegan alternatives to what are very popular pub meal options. Your pub is beautiful, wonderful setting in an incredible building and grounds, just please offer more choice and cater for all customers.
The Royal Oak – NantwichI echo the sentiments of the reviews. The main problem as I see it is that their needs to be more staff for a busy night like Saturday. Lovely place.
