Arrived at the restaurant at 7.30 as per our booking to find it was closed, doors locked and staff outside telling us they are out of a job! No call to let us know and just received an email asking for a review! RIP Stock!

What's wrong with you people! We had a booking for last night at 6.30 and the restaurant was closed and in total darkness despite emails the day before and subsequently as pr your email I will ensure people in Gosforth are aware of this

Arrived for our booking yesterday to find the restaurant closed. No word from anyone since. Not a great look.

No need to head to the riverside for a top dining experience; Stock on Gosforth High Street offers a high class experience. We had fantastic food, in a restaurant with a fantastic interior and most of all the service was great. As someone else has mentioned, they catered for a food allergy attentively and without fuss, which is a breath of fresh air! We had a memorable night out, thankyou Stock. We’ll be back!

Another fabulous visit to this restaurant. Excellent food, great staff and a lovely atmosphere. Every dish was amazing and beautifully presented. We’ve never had anything here that wasn’t excellent. They also cater for anyone who needs to eat gluten free without any fuss and are willing to adapt dishes as necessary. Well done…..a lovely modern restaurant serving delicious food with excellent service.

Another fabulous meal at Stock! We’ve had dinner there 4 or 5 times now and Sunday lunch 3 and every time the food has been amazing and the service excellent. We will definitely return!

Lovely venue with fab menu looking forward to going again

Excellent restaurant on Gosforth High Street. Chose this for my mothers birthday lunch because I had been before with my daughter and had been very impressed. We ate from the lunch menu which is a good value for the luxury ambience and high class food. Although short it covered a range of tastes so suitable for my mother's conservative style ( e.g. high quality fish and chips) and our more adventurous tastes. All 5 of us were happy with our choices. Lovely atmosphere with white table cloths, booths, fairy lights and candles even for lunch. Only slight negative - our table was nearest to the door & encountered drafts when door opened (very cold day even though April). Could have done with more customers. Staff couldn't do more. Made a lovely real melted chocolate decoration for my mothers dessert.

Couldn’t fault our meal. The knowledge and attentiveness of the service was very good. A great experience overall and would definitely visit again.

Had dinner with friends - was recommended by a friend, 100% best meal I have eaten out in a long time - the scallops AMAZING

Being within walking distance of home makes this a welcome addition to the High Street. Food, wine and service all excellent when we visited.

What a gastronomic delight! We enjoyed Sunday lunch which was our first visit to Stock. The service was excellent and the food was a delight for the taste buds. We will definitely be returning to this gem of a restaurant. The staff were polite, pleasant and knowledgeable. A wonderful experience!

Great food, great location- defiantly be back !!

1st visit and impressed with the interior ambience/ decor. A cut above others in the High St in style but very welcoming and cosy. Quiet and quite intriguing style of background music playing too. The waitress was delightful. No hovering!!Knowledgeable. Friendly too. Interesting menu . My starter was a tad disappointing ( oven roasted beetroots / burrata/ chargrilled fennel combo). On paper looked like a good concept but my coloured beets were tiny , and I suspect not oven roasted. The Burrata portion was too big for the amount of beets and VERY cold thus killing any flavour it might have, and yes it is a mild one I know. The fennel also was cold and bore no sign of charring. Pricey too for what it was. Needs tweaking, and a bit of the sourdough maybe? In contrast. My husband’s terrine was very good , excellent toasted sourdough ( didn’t need the garlic butter in my opinion but he loved it) and super tasty rocket. Both mains were excellent ! 1 pork, 1 duck and faultless. Gorgeous veg accompaniments. Only tried 1 dessert,(shared of course) the cheesecake and it was exactly how a good cheesecake should be! I tried a white(Albariño) house wine and then a red( Shiraz) the latter recommended by the waitress and both super good . She even gave my husband a small sample being so confident with this wine . My husband was pleased with his local brew lager too. All round a really pleasant evening. We will try Sunday lunch next time round.

Excellent addition to Gosforth - our second trip and superb service as the first time - we were well looked after by Carolina! The food and wine were both excellent and we shall definitely be back. Would be nice for some moodier lighting - otherwise superb night
