One of the best pubs/restaurants in the area until it was taken over. Walbottle village is a closely knit community with many locals and regulars. The Original Masons served food above and beyond that of a conventional pub, with a brilliant atmosphere and exceptional service. Having been recently taken over the new landlord has an utter disrespect for the place, having changed the name and treat the current staff in an appalling manor. Many of the elderly regulars who have frequented the place for many years have had new rules and regulations thrust upon them, having being made to feel like outcasts and second class citizens. Ridiculous new rules have been imposed such as dress code, restricted areas, and a sever change of menu. The new landlord has seemingly adopted a 'devil may care' attitude and believes he is still catering to the masses of Darras Hall and Ponteland, where his previous business failed. A landlord with such a vast ignorance for people’s traditions and one who can so easily dismiss years of loyalty and tradition is not somewhere that I would choose to be part of. Granted, it may well be ‘posh grub’ but it is within a sphere of influence sandwiched between three working class areas, where decent hard-working people want to enjoy the occasional evening out and a good quality meal at a reasonable cost. Diving in like a jackhammer and isolating elderly people and regulars with an utter disregard and disrespect for people is not how you introduce and conduct yourself in a community that you are new too. Make sure you have unlimited dosh and if you’re a born and bred Geordie that actually sounds like a Geordie, Then I really would not bother!

fantastic food, great service, excellent ambiance, friendly staff, all in all the best restaurant in Newcastle. You definitely get what you pay for.

Went to solomans for my husbands birthday, service was terrible asked for drinks and waited 30 minutes to get them and then they got them wrong. They forgot 1 of the starters, then asked for drinks again and had to wait another 20 minutes. Asked for the bill and was waiting 45 minutes. Really poor service, i wouldn't recommend booking a table here. Food is great so stick to the takeaway service they offer. we wont be eating in the restaurant again after this.

solomans is one of the best Indians around.the takeaway prices are much cheaper than other takeaways i have been to and the food is very nice

the food at solomons wasn't bad, but the service was very poor. though the restaurant wasn't busy i had to wait a long time for my bill etc and the attitude of the staff was very poor. i'd say, if you live in the noth eat and like Indian do yourself a favour, and save money, by going to ocean road in south shields instead.

i have tried many Indian takeaways but jaipur is by far the best one i have been to the food is excellent and the staff are very pleasant anyone who loves Indian food will go back time and time again.

By far the best take away in Newcastle, we have tried other but always, always come back to Jaipur. Give them a try and you will know what I'm raving about! The take away food is of better class than other Indian restaurant food!

Solomons make absolutely fantastic food and their Lamb Tikka Pasanda is probably the best dish I have ever eaten in my life.! It is quite pricy but having a takeaway is always an option and the food really is first class!

I have used this takeaway for a number of years. I have found them to be very reliable and friendly. The food is excellent and they have a very good meal deal I would recommend them to anyone.

I have been to Solomons a couple of times and although it is very nicely furnished and the food is good it is as good as any Indian Restaurant. I have eaten in many restaurants and have had many takeaways all equal to Solomons therefore I would say that they are expensive for the quality of food they are serving. As I say very nice food but you could get just as good somewhere else for less.

I was one of the first people to eat in this restaurant with my Husband we tried it upon it first opening. We did not have any cash but did not realise that they did not take credit card. When we discovered this we offered to stop eating our meal but the owner insisted that we continue with our whole meal and allowed us to return the next day to pap for the meal. Very trusting we thought and of course we did do just that. We have enjoyed many meals and excellent take aways from the Binid and I would recommend then to anyone. The make lovely food and the place is friendly clean and a very cosy atmosphere.

The restaurant specialises in Punjabi-Kashmiri cuisine, which is of a high quality and its reputation as Newcastle? premier restaurant certainly lived up to its expectations. We normally get takeaways but when we tried Solomon? on the west rd Newcastle just off the A1/A69 the atmosphere and service was second to none. I would recommend Solomon? to all its cuisine was outstanding
