We came here for our 10 year anniversary meal as we were staying in the resort. The food was lovely but I would say the cajun chicken pasta was so filling I could only eat half the bowl it was huge a little bit too peppery for me. Service was a little slow.

We were really disappointed with the service we experienced in the summer. We had to wait a long time between courses and after 50 minutes of finishing our main course no one had cleared our plates or taken a dessert order. I went to the bar to order, someone then came over 15 mins later to check if I'd made a decision on the dessert even though I thought I'd ordered this, so it then took another 10 mins to arrive. When it arrived I had to move my main course plate out of the way. Other guests arrived after us and had their meal and left before us. We had 2 kids under 7 with us and I thought this was appalling service as they were bored and tired. I also asked if we could change something on a pizza to suit the kids, I let the waiter convince me to order a pizza that was similar to what I wanted yet when it came it was really spicy and this was for the kids so i was really disappointed with that recommendation. I have been a waitress years ago and this is certainly not how I was trained.

Staff were attentive and food arrived in good time and was very good.

We love visiting the Lookout when we stay at Retallack. The atmosphere together with great, helpful staff and service are a real asset to the resort.

Very disappointed with our visit to restaurant. We ordered our drink and food , and 20 minutes later we got our food. Unfortunately we still had not received our drinks. The food on arrival was disappointing to say the least. I had a simple fish and chips and found the chips the peas and curry dipping sauce Luke warm. Fish was very nice and hot. This was not exceptable given the £12.95 cost. My husband had scampi and even though he ate it it was basic and expensive. Sadly we did not eat there again. The experience was noisy, not worth the money. We really liked the resort though.

Fantastic modern set up, lovely service and delicious food, all at very reasonable price. Dog friendly. We visited during off peak and the waiting time for food was very good. Highly recommended!

Firstly, the staff are lovely! We visited twice for meals during October half-term and several times more for drinks and found everyone to be friendly and helpful. Secondly, since our last visit a couple of years back, Lookout has had a smart refurb and the space reworked. It's much nicer. Food - sadly this was not on a par with the staff and the venue. We didn't know in advance that there was only pizza on a Sunday. Slightly odd and a bit disappointing, albeit the pizza was OK. On our 2nd visit, there were significant shortages so no one could really have their first meal choice. Not then helped by the wrong dessert being brought for the kids. By that point no-one could be bothered to say anything. Whilst not overly expensive, there are plenty of places priced more reasonably, although not close to the site. All in all, its an attractive venue with lovely staff, but is suffering from shortages which you notice in this price bracket.

Awful. Booked an early 6:30 table for the kids tea, by 8:30 we still hadn’t had our mains despite chasing several times. When they arrived the burgers were dried up, the peas were shrivelled, dry and grey, everything else was out of a packet. The staff told us how short staffed they were. They made no attempt to apologise or compensate. Terrible customer service.

We had a lovely meal at the Look Out. We visited with four kids and they had plenty to suit all tastes. The service was quick and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I had the nachos to share - which were delicious. The atmosphere was also good enough for our 15 year old boys. We’ve booked to go back before the end of our holiday.

Reasonable quality food- similar to standard pub food. Service was okay- asked for drinks twice and didn't get anything. Quite expensive for the quality of food.

Really enjoyed meal

Really impressed - visited last year and again this year… Great refurbishment and the menu was plentiful. It was busy but staff were really helpful. We are going to try and go back later in the week.

Very attentive staff and felt well looked after. Food was good quality and a decent portion. The bruschetta was a great starter followed by traditional fish and chips with the addition of curry sauce. We ate on a Monday evening and was expecting it to be quiet, but the place was nearly full with a buzzing atmosphere. Food is competitively priced with the advantage of being able to walk from a lodge and enjoy a pint. Great that they have local beer. Staff are a credit. Couple of items were not available on the menu due to shortages, but given the country wide situation its to be expected and should not be held against the team at the Lookout.

Restaurant is lovely & staff very hardworking. Steak & butterfly chicken delicious. Very long wait as short staffed. Decided not to have desserts as we didn’t want to another long wait. Very limited menu & closed two days during our visit so meant we didn’t go again. It’s a shame as it’s nice to have somewhere to eat on site as nothing else nearby. Given Doom Bar loyalty card & then told we could only get one stamp per visit not per pint so impossible to use for us for a free pint!
