Loved the atmosphere & food. One place to go to whilst in newquay
Mexican Cantina – NewquayWindswept Cafe is out of this world. Sitting out on the terrace over the beach watching the surf and you just want to be there all year round watching the skies and the seas.It is a very very special place. Fantastic meals ,cakes that you cannot resist, great staff, modern decor, local art expo's, such a pity I live 8 hours away, can't wait to get back to that magical place.
Bodhi’s – NewquayFantastic place open less than a year, best view of Fistral, and a superb place for a glass of wine to watch the sunset which happens right in front of you! Went there on Friday evening, when the tide was right in, underneath the balcony crashing against the steps to the beach below us; absolutely spectacular! The staff treated us like human beings and their menu looks delicious. We will return!
Bodhi’s – NewquayStopped here for lunch on the way back to our hotel. Simple but tasty food using real, fresh ingredients. Had a welcoming and cosy feel to it - we got so settled on the terrace watching the surfers that we ordered coffee and cakes and stayed a lot longer than we meant to! Dog-friendly - water bowls provided on the terrace. Would recommend it - there is something slightly magical about the location!
Bodhi’s – Newquayhad a great night . the food was great . went two nights running . all good food with a mexican feel the chill burger was great and very very filling . stopped at the victoria hotel next door , so got 10% off which was even better .
Senor Dicks – NewquayI love this place. It is, just a pub but everything they do is spot on. It? all standard pub food too, but done exceptionally well. The service is very good and will be familiar to anyone who has ever been to a weatherspoons. The price is a little higher than normal but that? to be expected due to its sea view and location. Lots of parking and loads of seating too. Great for lunch as long as one of you doesn? mind the brief drive.
Bowgie Inn – NewquayWe will definitely be going back to the Fistral Blu Restaurant next time we are in Newquay, the scallops were so delicious with that unusual 'kwaibi' Japanese mustard! The lamb shank was so tender & beautifully presented. We thoroughly recommend McGuigan Brothers Black Label, a v. smooth red wine. The ambience & service were just perfect!
Fistral Beach Bar – Newquayby far the best restaurant in Newquay, absolutely loved it! The food and atmosphere are spot on, felt like i was actually in Mexico!
Senor Dicks – NewquayWe have eaten at the Cantina in Newquay on several occasions and cannot fault the food and price. The staff have always been friendly and courteous, we would recommend it to anyone who likes to try something different.
Mexican Cantina – NewquayI went to Fifteen for dinner with a group of female friends and had a thoroughly wonderful evening. We were seated in a semi-private room at a lovely oval table overlooking the magnificent Watergate Bay - wow what better view to compliment this very stylish restaurant. We chose to go with the £90 wine tasting package, which to be honest I thought was extremely expensive, but after sampling all the different wines to compliment each course, I realised this was the best option. Each dish we had was superb, presented with style and sophistication. The restaurant was totally full, and the atmosphere was brilliant. I would definitely like to return to Fifteen, but obviously because of the price it will have to be a special occasion place for me.
Fifteen Cornwall – NewquayThe best Mexican I?e been to, the portions are massive so don? order too much, will be back there in about 3 weeks...
Senor Dicks – NewquaySmugglers Den is such a beautiful quiet spot. We enjoyed a lovely light Lunch outside. Menu has plenty to choose from and cooked to perfection. Would thoroughly recommend and can't wait to go in the evening.
Smugglers Den Inn – NewquayI had the pleasure of going there for lunch with a friend and we were seated at one of the tables that overlooks the beach. The food is Italian inspired and the menu seems to alter slightly from day to day (the menu is printed for that day and so we were able to keep a copy), On arrival we were given a copy of the menu along with a wine and drinks list. Our waitress then came over with a wooden board with various breads on it. We were told to "take a couple of pieces" which I thought was a bit mean as there were more than two kinds of bread on the board and I would have liked to have tried all of them plus the pieces were not that big. Along with the bread we were given four olives in a dish and some peppery olive oil for dipping. The wine is quite expensive as is the normal for restaurants and so my friend and I not being big drinkers opted to have a non alcoholic cocktail. I had a Watgergate Cooler and my friend had a Gentle sea breeze. Both were very nice and cost £4.00 each. We also had a bottle of Cornish Mineral water which cost about £2.50. You can choose to go for a set three course meal which costs £24.50 or if nothing grabs you from the set menu then other dishes were available at a cost of £9/13 for starters, £14 for pasta or £19/20 for mains and £8 for desserts. My friend and I chose to opt for choices from the set menu. For starters we had Spring salad - lovely fresh vegetables: asparagus, radish, carrot and peas served with rocket leaves and a sprinkling of cheese. For main I had a Spaghetti, fresh pea carbonara (the only non meat/fish dish on the menu) which on arrival looked quite small but was so rich that you couldn't have really eaten any more. I was particularly pleased that it was well seasoned with cracked black pepper (big fan) as there are no condiments on any of the tables in the restaurant. My friend chose Bolton Free range chicken which came on a bed of spring greens with a porcini mushroom and asparagus cream. For desert I chose Chocolate cake, fresh cherries and mascapone while my friend had grilled apricots with praline ice cream. I thought the desserts were very small especially as mine came on such a huge plate compared to the size of the cake. The cake was very rich - like a brownie and was served with a dolop of mascarpone and four fresh cherries. My friend's apricots came on a more appropriate sized plate but again was small in that it consisted of two apricots halved and grilled and a scoop of ice cream on top. To finish we had a coffee each - double expresso and an americano. In total our bill came to about £69.00 (excluding service). My overall view is that yes it is more expensive that your average restaurant but it does have a "celeb" status so you are paying for that. That the food at first glance looks small for the price but I found that actually I was very full although I still believe the waitress should have left the bread board! At the end of the day it is in a fantastic location and we found the waiters and waitresses to be very helpful and for the place as a whole to have a lovely atmosphere (the restaurant was practically full when we went) and even if you only go for a special occasion the atmosphere and location make up for the fact that you will probably have to spend a bit more than normal.
Fifteen Cornwall – NewquayBuzios on a Sunday afternoon was very quiet. Took over half an hour for food to arrive at table. Seemed a bit on the stingy side but very nice. Waitress was a real sweety!
Buzios Cafe Bar and Restaurant – NewquayExcellent! Really enjoyable evening. We were quite loud but nobody seemed to mind! Food was great, loads of it and served with beaming smiles! If only Wadebridge and Rock would latch on to the idea that you don't have to charge a fortune in your Restaurants/Cafes. We now venture to Newquay for a decent meal with a reasonable bill!
Senor Dicks – Newquaywe were really glad we found this great spot. well cooked local food with a really laid back atmosphere
Lusty Glaze – Newquayfantastic location with the food and atmosphere to match
Lusty Glaze – NewquayGreat view. However I don't go to an Indian for the view, food is acceptable, service rushed and a little conveyor like.
New Maharajah The – Newquay
