great food , lovely fresh produce , a pleasant change to find home cooked great food not bought in run of the mill expensive produce , left me wanting more !!

We booked for a party of 8 in to The Vanilla Pod Restaurant for our annual family get together. On arrival we were told that there had been a mistake and we would have to eat in the bar area. This we had to accept as our taxi's had left. The situation was made worse as our taxi driver had mentioned that it was not unknown for the Inn to overbook and then 'bump' someone in to the bar area. That said the food was very nice and we had a good evening despite the problem. I would recommend the food, just be aware of the tendency for them to overbook.

Had an nice meal here together with 5 other adults. Everyone enjoyed the starters, main meal and dessert. It was quiet that evening, and the service was prompt and proper. The price was right. Nice pint of the local brew too. Otter beer. This is a cosy old pub with a bright and airy new extension. Something for everyone. I'll go again next time I'm in Devon.

A traditional lunch-time roast was served with speed and efficiency on very hot plates! A smaller portion was available. The puddings are superb and vary from roulades to Bread and Butter pud with custard. The delicious cakes and pastries ensure your diet fails. A very wide range of teas are on offer and the staff...simply delightful.

Pub full of character, staff very friendly. New French chef/owner and partner are making great fresh pub food with a French twist. Good beer and wine. Carvery all day every Sundays £8 (my favourite). A must try !!!!

This has to be one of the best restaurants I've eaten in. The food is always superb. The price is relative; it would cost twice as much in London, and you could pay more in some Devon restaurants. I would rather pay a little more for a meal that is really good, than save a few bob to get rubbish

Dinning at the Old Rydon has been consistently impressive since re-opening in early summer. Wonderful venue and delightful staff, surpassed only by the quality of the food.

One of the most character filled pubs I've ever been to, it's so lovely that our good friends only live around the corner from this gem - I'm sure we won't need try very hard to persuade them to go back here every time we visit!

Enjoyed a meal at this place earlier in the year, superb Monkfish! Am returning this weekend and looking forward to some yummy tuck! I think Gordon Ramsay would approve unlike some other restaurants I have visited in this area!
