Excellent food with interesting flavours from Asia

Excellent monk fish, lobster not quite axx so good. Lovely atmosphere

This was a special meal for us, celebrating our dear friends' Golden Wedding Anniversary. The food was delicious, the young staff were friendly, efficient and professional and the atmosphere relaxed, discreet and warmly welcoming.

This was our third time to the Hamnavoe since it has reopened. To say it's a breath of fresh air, restaurant wise, for Stromness (even Orkney) would be an understatement. The atmosphere is intimate and friendly, however, the most exciting experience is the food. From scallops, lobster, beef to vegetarian, every mouthful is an explosion of flavours. Highly recommend the Hamnavoe, can't wait to go again.

Hands down favourite! Delightful little restaurant tucked away on a side street of Stromness. The food is thoughtfully prepared with incredible ingredients much of which is locally sourced. Gorgeous in every way! Couldn’t recommend it more.

If you want the highest quality local food prepared with flair to an international standard, then this is the place. A cosy space where the food is the focus of the attention. Friendly staff round off the experience. Very highly recommended indeed.

Excellent on all fronts. The food was outstanding, beautifully cooked and presented and tasted amazing. Fresh local produce with a Korean influence was fabulous. Party of 4 tried range of dished each delicious and backed up by excellent front of house service. Highly recommend.

Excellent food using local produce in unique way. Starting w lovely homemade bread. Great scallops and fab lobster and yum cod. Sadly too full for dessert! Will come back.

Absolutely amazing! Flavour explosion with every bite. With a limited menu you can see they've perfected every dish on offer. Honestly the best meal I've had in a long time, possibly ever! Staff so attentive as well. Can't recommend it enough!

Really delicious 3 course meal and excellent service. The waiting staff were very attentive and the food was full of flavour and served on hot dishes. Will definitely go back.

It is so lovely that The Hamnavoe is open again. We thoroughly enjoyed all the food. I had the vegetarian options and they were delicious, the best vegetarian food I have eaten with wonderful Asian flavours. My husband had the pork belly and then the beef cheeks which was also delicious. We hope it will continue to be open through the winter. Still a nice intimate but friendly restaurant. Thank you.

We had a stunning meal at the Hamnavoe last Thursday evening. I knew the place had changed hands and was a little apprehensive that the food would not meet the standards of the previous owners. But I need not have worried. It was superb. We had the cod on a bean, veggie and chorizo base and the gooseberry frangipani after. Both were delicious and beautifully cooked.
