I'd highly recommend The Hamnavoe, the menu is short, but perfectly formed, and a lot of the dishes have an Asian/Korean twist, so give traditional-sounding dishes a bit of a lift - eg hand-dived scallops with dashi butter sauce - these were unbelievably good. My gooseberry frangipane dessert was fresh and light, and very delicious. Wine list also short, but plenty of choice, with local beers, and a few options by the glass too. Service was just right, friendly and efficient. I'm sure we'll be back soon, and hoping they can stay open during the winter, even if just for a couple of nights a week. Stromness has been crying out for a place like this.

We have eaten here several times now, food and service are excellent. Highly recommended.

Visited on 17th of Feb 2010, superb meal in a spacious and well presented area. A little pricey, but not over the top and worth every penny.

I tried this cafe for breakfast. 1 regular breakfast, 1 large breakfast and 3 drinks came to £21. The food was locally sourced but I think the sausages were reheated and spoilt the meal along with the price tag, My wife said the hot chocolate was very good.
