Even if we were too early, we could have a seat and get a drink. The staff was really friendly and the food was just perfect!!!

We loved our meal at Hamnavoe. The staff were friendly & efficient & the lobster we had was delicious.

We really enjoyed our meal. The scallops were enormous and delicious, my husband had belly pork which he enjoyed. We both had beef short ribs, tender and tasty, and we shared the strawberry shortbread dessert, which we both enjoyed. Service was good.

Had a very enjoyable meal at the Hamnavoe last week. Cozy atmosphere with some inventive and delicious dishes. Highly recommend for a meal on Orkney.

Lovely food - best we had this week in Orkney, and we had some really good meals. My OH loved the Shetland catfish. I am in awe of anyone who can get pastry that thin and still get it out of the tin. I think the Valrona chocolate tart was the highlight of my week.

Waiting staff inexperienced and this led to a few errors in service. Food was outstanding but pricey. Worth a visit but check your bill is correct.

We had dinner yesterday and we really liked it, actually we liked the starters best. My main was too salty for my taste, so I switched with my husband, he had the pasta that was excellent!

An intimate affair with outstanding food, comprised of local produce with hints of far flung influences. The staff were welcoming and attentive, a fantastic experience from start to finish. What a privilege to have such a place on our doorstep.

This is a lovely little restaurant which is, in some ways, still finding its feet - but the core of its offering, the food, is very good. It is not cheap, and as such there are some touches they need to work on (cotton napkins being a quick fix!) and if possible a two and a half hour sitting time would be preferable but over time, and with the support of diners, this has the potential to turn into a little gem.
