Not a good restaurant and cannot be recommended. We had a meal here in mid September 2008 and were served with a very poor meal, for which we were overcharged. The food is supposed to be home cooked but it was obvious that it had been purchased from a supermarket and served on a plate. Very disappointing.

The food in this restaurant is badly cooked, and over priced, and the service was terrible. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Dreadful. Went to see the Obby Oss on May day. Great fun. However, don't bother with this fish and chipper. Flaky fish and stodgy, tasteless chips. £15.50 for C&C twice and 2 teas. Dreadful food and just about the worst value I've experienced. Buy a couple of local pasties instead. Better food and not at rip-off prices.

Went to Seven Bays Bistro in April 2007 and loved it - MUCH better that Rick Stein. The Monkfish was amazing, the service excellent and the pricing was very fair. My friends and I loved it so much we're already booking a return visit to this fantastic restaurant when we come back to St Merryn in June. CAN'T WAIT!!!!

A private room - set aside for 10 eager gourmands was not a bridge to far for this professionally run Padstein eatery. We were a cross section of people who all had a different view of good food. Some had done the 3 star Michelin 'thing' - some were happy with what the best Padstow could offer. Some ate things they thought they were allergic to. All had a common purpose - to enjoy the company and to sample the best that Cornwall had to offer. There were no arguments. We all agreed that the service, the food and the wine were the best we had had in Cornwall - and for some of us - ever had! The proof of a successful meal is how much you remember of it the next day. I am still salivating as I recapture the delicacies presented on the day. Talking specifics about what we ate is pointless as menus change. However the fact that 10 well travelled people all agreed with the excellence of this establishment is proof positive that Padstow has a worthy rival to Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant. In fact I would go so far as to say that Rick should be proud to have someone to look up to!

Typical tourist trap restaurant, overpriced and poor quality. We visited this summer for the first time, and although regularly holiday in the area we will never return to the Clipper. The fish pie was expensive, didn't appear to contain anything resembling fish, and the portion size was small, served with a pathetic excuse for a side salad. The drinks were expensive and served in small tumblers. I can only assume they can stay in business due to the large number of unsuspecting tourists they must have as customers. Steer clear of this one !

Friends and I had the pleasure of having dinner here during a recent trip to Padstow. We could not say enough about the experience. The food was excellent, very creative dishes and beautifully presented. The staff was very knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. Contrary to the popularity of the Stein name (which in our opinion, is very overrated) this restaurant is TOPS. Keep up the good work!

Excellent chilli beef starter, beautiful fillet steak. On second visit had pasta main course, beautiful but not enough! Cooking and service very high standard but a bit pricey but so were all the other restaurants in the area.

We have eaten at this restaurant a few times and every time the food has been outstanding. Probably one of the best fish restaurants in Cornwall. Excellent service and very often the chef/proprietor comes out and has a word with the diners at each table to make sure that they are satisfied - excellent all round.

We had the taster menu and were not disappointed - my husband can’t eat shellfish, so they tailored the menu to suit him - each course was amazing although I felt that the puddings let the experience down a little and just did not have the wow factor that the rest of the meal had. Was the longest and most expensive meal that I have had - there for over 3 hours, each element from the nibbles were well thought out, would go back e

Me and my wife have not been to Cornwall in along time but i can quite honestly say this is the best restaurant we have ever been to and with living in London we get to eat at some top end restaurants like the ledbury, square, petrus etc. From the delightful canapés right through to the last sip of my espresso was a amazing, its a shame the rest of Padstow restaurant scene does not keep up the standards no names mentioned STEINS, MARGOTS, overcooked, overpriced, and will be overlooked when we come next year well done no.6

One of the best meals I have ever eaten. The portions look small but I had to be rolled out of the place! The scallop and black pudding starter needs to be a permanent fixture on the menu and the taste of 6 pudding - a shared 'buffet' of puddings for 2 - is mouth watering. Molly the hostess creates and wonderful ambiance and the service is second to none. the room was full of happy eaters just oohing and aghing over the immaculately presented food. However the restaurant has escaped becoming a pretentious hang out! Can't wait to go back!

A beautiful meal with starter and main cooked to perfection and a wonderful dessert. After eating in the pricier Restaurants in Padstow we decided that we liked the experience every bit as much in No6 if not more. The quality was every bit as good as the top end Restaurants; that? not to say that the food is cheap, it isn? its mid range. Definitely good value for money. We also found that many diners were local people which is good testament to the quality of the food, decor & service.
