Well, my family and i attended the above, the atmosphere was great & friendly staff, especially the young Scottish girl who looked after us. The restaurant wasn't too busy, we didn't book & only waited 20-25 for a table. However, once seated i noticed two separate tables returning food to the kitchen, i thought we were in for a rough ride here, how right was i. Firstly the Chef didn't inform the waitress of what wasn't available on the menu, this happened twice in the same order resulting the waitress returning to the kitchen twice. Finally we got the starter which was nice, then the main course, this is where the beef pie with a silly looking bird sat in the middle surrounded by the a life times supply of pastry, eventually when the stuggle of removing the exploding pastry (brittle) only to reveal 'three' pieces of meat and a suggestion of gravy, a straw would of been call of the day here. I was told the taste was good but in short supply. The lasagna had so much sauce and not enough meat, now my knowledge in the food/restaurant arena is of a 20 year period. I attended Lockyers Key in the capacity of a customer and left as a customer. Like i have said the cleanliness and staff were great, barr the chef, i suggest a training plan should be put in place and promote due diligence in the work related arena. This will lay at the door of the manager to train his/her staff to ensure legislation is maintained which is all of our goal in the catering field. To summarize, we got a free desert & that's another story, i am just glad we didn't pay for it as it was pathetic sat on a huge plate and a splash of cream in a ramakin dish. Such a shame, to end on a good note the cheese board was great. Unfortunalty i will not be returning to this restaurant, i just hope they find their way & good luck.

We were visiting Plymouth and wanted Oysters and found Bistro One via Sugarvine. We were offered Oysters both Raw and Grilled and promptly devoured a dozen each. Fab! Our wine was a surprise as we were recommended to try a Sicilian Catarratto - never heard of it but what a wine it turned out to be. Lemon scented and perfect with the sea-flavoured Oysters. Couldn't have been better, very simple and very fresh. Job done, we look forward to our next visit.

I have eaten at the Noodle Lounge so many times I cannot remember because it is the highest quality Chinese food I have ever eaten (and that includes Chinatown in New York and London!) Every single person who I suggested visit the restaurant has agreed that it is the most fantastic culinary experience they have had from a Chinese restaurant and if there is a more attentive, friendlier and welcoming host than Johnny I have yet to meet them!

We had heard that Bistro One had some Game on the menu so promptly booked. To our surprise we were offered Game Soup, Game Terrine, Paupiettes of Pheasant and Haunch of Red Deer. we sampled all of these dishes to great acclaim, wonderful natural flavours balanced with excellent garnishes and sauces. Simple House wine turned out to be an excellent Provence Rouge from Cotes de Ventoux punching well above its weight. I understand that this type of menu will be offered for another month or so so like us if Game is your dish do give Bistro One a try.

i recently visited the dartmoor union and i must say the food and the service was the best i have seen in many years ,finally a restaurant who cooks a steak they way you ask for it ! plenty of choices makes it very hard to choose from the starters mains and deserts all fantastic , the staff where friendly ,helpful and polite . a very trendy and cosy pub with a lovely roaring fire with cosy sofas around , refreshing to see a pub with delicious home cooked food . on my next visit i will definitely be back .

We love the quality don't think u can match it any where else in Plymouth/South Hams, the service always friendly. However if you visit the old cottage in the winter make sure you wear extra layers as its very cold brrrr .

Disappointed.

Disgraceful. 1st time I went here they short changed me by a tenner. 2nd time by only a penny. 3rd time we ordered some food, their "massive" portion of wings for 3.95 turned out to be 6 burnt chicken wings. The food was cold and the burger on the bun was completely stale. The guy then tried to over charge us until we pointed out that the value was in fact less than he had stated. He then gave us all our change in 5ps and short changed us by 10p. Never going there again.

I have eaten at the noodle lounge on several occasions and every time the service and food was excellent. I have recommended the lounge to several of my friends and all have had the same experience.

I tried the Thai House many years ago. It was out standing. I returned there 4 years ago with my partner and the food was still out standing. I love its, warm friendly and cosy atmosphere. Me and my partner have had at least one meal here each month since that time and have enjoyed every single meal. A mix of warm flavours and home found produce. Well worth a try.
