Akbar's Cafe! Yum!I got to say that the Cafe was firstly lovely presented and decorated. The food was also delicious. They even catered for my friend who couldn't eat spicy food. serving him a beautifully cooked steak. The service and waiters were punctual and very polite. also they certainly can make great Ras Mali dessert. 5-stars!

Iv been to akbars several times now because there steak is out of this world BUT the service is appalling:-( waited 30 minutes before they took my drink order, then a further 10 minutes to take my food order.. Then it took 50minutes for the starter to come and the main followed 10 mins after... Our drinks were finished before our main meal came so we ended up eating our main with no drinks!!! Once we'd finished it took quite some time for the table to be cleared then a further 10minutes waiting for desert menu:-( during all this there are lots of waiters just standing around..... Very poor service everytime iv been:-( 10/10 for food -10/10 for customer service/ satisfaction. When the man took our payment ( by card) he just handed it back and didn't even say anything!!! How rude.....in total we were in there (2of us) for 2 hours and spent £50!!! Ridiculous!

I absolutely love Akbars Desi Cafe!!! It has the best authentic tasting food for miles and the continental chocolate cake with pannacotta ice cream tastes like I've died and gone to choco heaven. Love it!

an excellent cafe in Bradford, exceeds all the ones I've ever been to in Bradford!!!!!!! staff were really at looking after customer, the food was excellent, especially the desserts (lovely and immaculate presentation) just a problem with the tables, they kept on wobbling and drinks kept sliding off, thats my only concern but i would definitely recommend this cafe to anybody looking for a a excellent service 10/10 on my scale!!!!! keep up the good work cafe akbars!!!!!!! :)

I visit Akbars Cafe about once a month and I am from London, Hand on heart I can say there are not many restaurants which are on Par with Akbars, There is a good range of starters (the Chicken Nambali is divine) The main meals are perfectly balanced in spice and the nan breads.. HOLY SHMOLY.. they are HUGE :) You can tell these are no leftovers being served, only the freshest ingredients please my pallet. Love the decor, the Waiters are very friendly and attentive and the guy on the till, he KNOWS how to use a calculator :) Definitely the best restaurant over the hills and far away!

Having heard about Akbar's Cafe on Lees Road, Bradford, we were looking forward to the meal. The four of us set out and on arrival found it was very busy which was a great sign. We decided to queue up. Unknowingly we went to the front of the queue where we were greeted by a rather large intimidating man who was very quick and abrupt in pointing out that we had joined the wrong end of the queue. After waiting approximately 15 minutes we were seated. The decor and ambiance were exceptional. The walls were well decorated and the cafe appeared to run several themes which synergised well. Once seated, we quickly discovered how crammed the seating was, this was very impractical which we later discovered when the food arrived. Sadly to add to this shortcoming, the tables were unclean with crumbs and the cutlery had been piled up and set out after we had sat down. The waiter was polite but a smile would not have gone amiss. The food was generally okay if I am to be generous. We ordered rather mild food however it was spicy. The garlic naan on the other hand was splendid it was very soft and didn't harden up. Along with the food, we ordered a jug of coca cola which was flat. We immediately notified the waiter who called over someone else. The second waiter explained that they had poured four coca cola bottles in to the jug and that is why it is flat, to this we responded by requesting bottles instead. The waiter said we would be charged for the jug. We were not happy and told the waiter, he said what am a gona do with the this we told him he could do what he likes with it. The waiter then called the manager. The manager happened to be the same cretin who greeted us. His attitude was very intimidating and un-professional. He made it clear that it was flat because of the bottles being poured in to the jug. He said it was what we requested which we clearly didn't, know body requests flat coca cola. He finally after much hesitation took the jug away and gave us two bottles. He then came back to the table after 5 minutes and said that we were in fact wrong and the coke was not flat as he had tried it himself. We could not believe he had the audacity, to a; try the drink and b; to come and tell us. It would hardly come as a shock if the same jug was to be topped up and passed on to the next customer because clearly according to the experts it was fine. After this dialog, we checked out the menus rest room, unfortunately, these stunk as much as the service. To summarise, the ambiance, music and decor was great, the food was okay and the service was appalling. For the sake of 2 bottles of coke, Akbarâ??s Café have done themselves no favours and more so a disservice as we have convinced people we know who anticipated visiting, to go elsewhere. Should this review be out of kilter then we welcome an invitation to revisit Akbars Cafe where we can be shown at lest the service that is standard of every McDonalds.
