About Althorp Coaching Inn

Steeped in history and dating back to the 1600s, the Althorp Coaching Inn provides a home away from home for you to eat and drink with family and friends. Located in rural Northamptonshire in the village of Great Brington, the thatch and stone building provides a warm and homely setting for dinner, or a drink by the fire. The kitchen specialises in fresh and seasonal food sourced from independent local suppliers. Menus change monthly, examples include: a starter of Sweet Spiced Parsnip Soup with garlic and rosemary focaccia, and a main of Pan Fried Duck Breast with potato fondant, buttered panache of baby vegetables and a cherry jus. As well as the rustic charm of the interior - which has retained many original features and has two wood burning stoves – there is plenty of outside seating in the courtyard and garden. It’s a great spot whether you fancy an award-winning coffee with the newspapers, a casual lunch, after-work drinks, or a special occasion meal.

We were very pleased to see The Coaching Inn open again - and certainly were not disappointed. We had starter & main course and the food was wonderful. Beautifully presented and superbly cooked. The staff we really lovely and we enjoyed our experience. It was also good to see the restaurant nearly full and with a lively atmosphere.

We had a lovely festive menu meal here yesterday. I am coeliac so was really pleased with choice I had and kitchen and staff ‘s knowledgeable attitude for this. One issue-we wanted to pay by card separately which is what we always find easiest to do but couldn’t do this. Thank you-we will be back.

Thought we try out this recently opened pub on a Saturday lunchtime and was not disappointed. It is a quaint warm and comfortable old inn and was oozing with charm and character. The landlord was truly charming and was keen to ensure we had a lovely experience, which we did! The menu is limited but didn’t disappoint as we were very pleased with the delicious lunch and good wine to accompany. Stayed way longer than we were planning to as just didn’t want to end the experience. So pleased this one is back on the map! We will be back x

A lovely looking pub, a nice atmosphere, and the food was fine. Service was very, very stretched though and we had to wait overly long for drinks at the bar and every course

We are very pleased to see the Althorp Arms open again and we enjoyed our Christmas lunch there last week. The food was good and the staff were attentive. Unfortunately the restaurant was very cold when we arrived and we had to keep our coats on for an hour or so until the log burner finally got going. I am sure we will be back.
