I do not usually do reviews, but had to make an exception.
Staying at Lakeside for three nights with my wife and had the misfortune to only find The Anglers on our second night.
Ambience, service, menu, presentation and food all excellent.
We will definitely be going back tomorrow evening.
A must place to eat if you are in the area...shame its so far from London.

I'm sorry to have to write this but my wife and I had a meal at the Anglers Arms Haverthwaite on Friday 21st August and it was absolutely disgusting.The starter was a minuscule portion and very bland. The main course is probably the most bland stodgy and nondescript meal I have eaten since my school dinner days. To add insult, the manager offered us a ten percent discount off our meal.A dreadful experience we will never go back again
