In contrast with the hushed atmosphere (it was a Wednesday night) the service & food was vibrant & exciting. Service was superb & the sommelier recommended a fabulous wine to compliment our meal. The amuse bouche was the stand out taste explosion: as it should. Closely followed by the lamb with sweetbreads and sprat which was uniquely exciting on the palate & deeply satisfying. My favourite bits were in the detail, fabulous fresh bread, 3 flavours of butter, exquisite petite fours & a cheese menu that made me squeal! Anthony man not only knows food, but loves it.

We returned to this outstanding place and were impressed with the food and service. The lunch menu was delicious: the butternut starter was perfectly seasoned and we were impressed with the flavours in our mains. The only disappointment was a slightly sloppy and over-sweet dessert. The impeccable service (attentive but not over-bearing) made the experience even more enjoyable than our last visit and we will continue to recommend it is our top dining experience in Leeds.

We went to Anthony's and had the tasting menu and let them recommend the wines to go with the food. It was stunning. It's expensive but well worth it as a special treat; we would certainly go back. The service is quite informal as is the atmosphere - I was expecting it to be much more stuffy but not at all

Don't waste your money!
Restaurant was in the basement - no windows - no atmosphere.
Most courses came covered in something that looked like spit.
My dessert (which sounded like quite a safe bet compared to the rest of the menu) was disgusting - tasted like animal fat!
The serving staff asked if it was OK (because I hadn't eaten it), but there was no reaction when I said no.
Wine was not good.
Can't be bothered to complain, because the best I'd get would be a free meal - I wouldn't even eat there for free!
Bill was £212 for 4 people (2 never had starters).
The only thing I can say that's good about the place is that the toilets are well stocked with hairspray, hand cream etc. So make sure you use some of the products so that you don't feel you've wasted 100% of your money!

I went to Anthony's last night (valentines night) and left a little disappointed. I booked with the expectation of every dish being amazing and left with the feeling that I just ate a very mediocre meal. It was different and yes every strange combination worked but it wasn't by any means fantastic. The staff were fussy and would benefit from a little training. The decor left a little to be desired with respect to the finish, alot of sloppy paintwork and a poorly constructed false ceiling. I feel it was very overpriced and a product of his fathers expert marketing skills. This restaurant is busy because Leeds hasn't seen anything like it before, move it to London and it'll close in a year. Will he get a star? Not unless he makes some drastic improvements. I've spoke to a number of people who have been there and left with a similar feeling, even though the majority of the reviews below would suggest otherwise. We'll see if this one remains posted. 10% discount for writing a review screams allegiance. Disappointing and overpriced.

Very pretentious and over priced. We Gave the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and dined a second time Just Before Christmas. Again it was appalling. As Ramsey says, the Chef should leave his ego in the Kitchen. However the restaurant will succeed as the clientele like to be seen at the most expensive tuck hole in Town, as they are all part of the fairy tale - The Kings New Clothes. No one dare tell the Chef. Avoid at all costs if you are looking for ambiance, value for Money, and poncey food - Service however is excellent but you will come home hungry

I can't believe that this restaurant has so many good reviews and awards.... Maybe it is because I lived in France and Belgium where the cuisine is beyond any other... but I just found the menu extremely boring. The ambience in the upstairs was dreadful - loud music pouring out and not comfortable at all with the large sofas and silly glass tables. Downstairs the din from the wooden floor with waiters running around was deafening. Awful decor not what you would expect and as for the staff - well they kept getting the cutlery wrong. I think this resto has a long way to go before it can be considered a top restaurant - very disappointed indeed.

This is the second time that I have visited for the lunchtime menu, and Im afraid that this time I was disappointed. My gin and tonic was gin and soda, the Amuse bouche was mussels in tuna foam and they were very gritty. Then my starter of crab salad had shell in it which I complained about and the waitress said that the chef simply "apologised". The rest of the meal was fine but at £80+ for a lunchtime meal I expected better

I have been to Anthony's three times now & it just gets better every time.
As a veggie you are limited in most restaurants & although I suspect Anthony would be happier cooking up meat & fish dishes he always steps up to the bar with a 'vegetarian surprise menu' for us. The best food ever!!
The staff are friendly but not overbearing & they remember you well, which makes for a nice personable feel. It's not a snotty place either & you can dress up or down, whatever!
The food is godly & the waiters are always smiling at our sheer delight in what we are eating.
I urge everyone to go there & support the best dining experience Leeds has ever had.
