Baja Mexicali is a vibrant Californian-style restaurant and cocktail bar with branches in Whiteley Shopping Centre and Portsmouth city centre. Both restaurants serve up a fusion of traditional Mexican and Californian cuisine ranging from tacos and burritos to quesadillas and Asada fries. Or if you prefer to ‘picar’ there’s a good selection of small plates to share. And don’t forget a cocktail, craft beer or maybe a tequila to complement your meal. Baja Mexicali has a welcoming, laid-back vibe, friendly service and also has a takeaway and delivery service.

The burritos here are some of the best I have ever had. The service is speedy and the range of hot sauces is good.

We really enjoyed our meal, the table and benches inside are relaxed and comfortable. Drinks and cocktails are not over priced. One of our party hadn't eaten Mexican before and our server took time to explain the dishes. Our food came quickly, was well presented and really tasty. Our food was also good value for money.

My second visit and definitely going to be a regular. The tapas is really authentic and delicious. I’ve also tried the Tacos which were equally tasty. The prices are very reasonable and the service is excellent.

Good selection of tapas dishes, good portion sizes. Well made cocktails. Overall was impressed by the attentive, friendly and efficient servers, particularly when aware of my gluten intolerance.
