Bakchich started life as a street stall at Liverpool Christmas Market and now they have restaurants in Manchester and Liverpool, with a second Liverpool venue opening in 2017. The aim is to provide an authentic Lebanese dining experience from start to finish and little touches like the Arabic background music, mosaic floor tiles and the cedarwood entrance help to create the perfect Middle Eastern ambience. Of course the food is central to the whole Bakchich experience and the affordable menu ranges from grills, tagines and cous cous through to shawarma, falafel and even Lebanese pizza. Three ingredients are central to Lebanese cuisine – chickpeas, pomegranate and zataar, a herb family similar to oregano – and you can watch the chefs creating their magic in the open kitchen. Bakchich literally translates as ‘small change’ and affordability is another central part of the whole Bakchich ethos. The restaurant is open from 9 am until late, seven days a week (from 10am Sundays).
