About Bangkok Cafe

Nominated for the Bar & Restaurant Design Awards and voted best 'cheap eat' in the UK by readers of the BBC's Olive magazine, Cardiff's Bangkok Cafe is an intimate and relaxed venue with a contemporary vibe. The Executive Chef has more than 20 years of international experience and the menus contain a range of familiar and less well-known Thai dishes as well as a Vegan menu and a Tuk-Tuk Children's menu. Produce is carefully sourced from local suppliers with most of the herbs and spices imported direct from Thailand. Open from 5.30pm every evening except Tuesdays and for lunch Wednesday to Sunday.

Not my first visit but as usual a great meal and served to us with a smile. I thought the starters and mains are a little expensive but the portions are of a good size and substantial. Perhaps my view on price is a bit unfair as what is cheap these days? A meal much enjoyed by our party of seven adults and one child out to celebrate a 20th birthday

We had a wonderful family evening at the restaurant. The food was really good, and very tasty. I am glad to have followed the chef's recommendations in the menu. The service was excellent, we felt welcomed, and the food was served without delay. I have only one comment regarding the atmosphere, I would have loved to listen some Asian traditional music rather that Western pop.

Outstanding Thai Experience at Bangkok Cafe Visited Bangkok Cafe and was thoroughly impressed. The Thai green curry was rich, fragrant, and had the perfect level of heat – easily one of the best I’ve had in Cardiff. The chicken dish was equally delicious, tender, and bursting with flavour. The sides complemented the mains perfectly and brought the whole meal together. The service was warm and attentive throughout, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. With such consistently high ratings, it’s easy to see why this place is so well regarded. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Thai cuisine! Rating: 5/5

So so good, normally we order Deliveroo but decided to go in because we’re always so impressed. It was even better in the restaurant! Everyone was so happy with their food — vegan and non vegan. A new favourite for sure. Friendly, fast service — no corners cut. Thank you :)
